I have learned more from you in 5 of these you tube videos about music theory than I have in 6 months searching the internet and reading and watching hours of other videos. I am a 53 yr old beginning guitar player and I need to know why and how stuff works. Now I can work on my mechanics. THANK YOU so much

The way you break it down and and slowly put the peices back together really does make it so much easier to understand for this 40 yo drummer that always wanted to play guitar but a wrist surgery at 11 years old with me with 70 percent mobility of the average person. Watching three guitarist play the same exact song a jam sesh a light bulb went off because I noticed their hands were all in different positions and shapes and but sounded virtually the sams thats when I realized that I could probably work around my disability. Out of the 20 different teachers your explaination is by far the best! Rock on!

Steve, Thank You so much brother. You got my brain working again on a music theory level. Thank you so much. Sometimes we have to get back to the pen and paper and just put the guitar down. Then when you pick it back up it's like looking at it under a whole different light. Your fingers and hands don't always know what to do because sometimes your brain is handcuffed. Thanks again sir. You really make a difference. We all come here looking for help at every level. You teach us graciously and unselfishly.

Hi Steve, It's been said before (by others) on a few of your videos, but I'll repeat it here, - you are a gifted and enthusiastic teacher. The main thing you do for me is make things sound obvious, I've had lessons and read books and watched other "teachers'" videos but have always come to the same point of missing information - specifically "how does it all fundamentally fit together musically?", which scale for which chord and chord change, and "what are my choices of note at this moment, and how will it sound in the whole context?" ..... rather than the common and familiar winging it. You have the right personality, humility and knowledge and seem to understand what we might not - other teachers (and books) revel in the complicatiions, as if it's some right of passage for us to figure out the gaps or rushed bits. You show us what you know, what it means and how it fits together. You're a breath of fresh air - much respect from the U.K. Regards, Stuart.

Hi, Steve. I have every KZfaq “lesson” to choose from, alongside which ‘tutor’. What I feel, watching and listening to you is a love of what you do! A keenness to impart knowledge. An enthusiasm to get your message across and what made it all click, is you ‘give your time’ without hesitation, in spite of ,everything else you do in your life. (I am re-learning from my 20’s, some gap, (like my finger tips are trying to squeeze into). My ‘act’ will have an eight minute guitar spot but it needs to be”impressive”.song

Brilliant! I have been a sax player since I was around 10 years old (now 46). I know my scales, major and minor, but never studied the theory behind why they are what they are. I have learned more about music in these few videos than in a lifetime of playing. Subscribed and will definitely follow and continue learning! Brand new to guitar and struggling to separate my thinking from seeing notes on a staff and thinking sax fingering to instead thinking guitar. Difficult transition but this has all made it make so much more sense and has helped clear the wall of struggle from single note at a time like the sax to single notes and chords intermixed.

Very good most of the time I find that people really do not know music. they know how to play, but they don;t know music. I go too open mike or a jam sessions and some one says play in E but then they play the song in C major and I'm of playing in E then when you try to explain it they just don;t get it and these are seasoned players people who have been playing a very long time. still amazes me, and I have never found it to be that hard to understand thank you I know where you are going with the modes and I think your a very good teacher. Thank god for people like you and the people in life that got me straight about allot of things keep it up.

Steve Stine, you are by far the best music teacher on KZfaq, and probably the world 👍. I love these lessons. I visited guitarzoom.com but I don't know what course continues from where this video left off. I've been playing for about 15 years and can replicate just about anything with a little practice. What I could not do though, was improvise on the fly. YOU have helped get me started in doing just that. I really cannot thank you enough. Another 20 years and I hope to be on par with Knopfler 😃
