i’ve taken up plenty of hobbies over the pandemic, threading cool friendship bracelets, making latch-hook rugs, painting, clay-making…. but by far crocheting is the HARDEST hobby i’ve had to learn! 😅😅😅

I love you, you're an angel. I'm trying to make a hat. My circle was all rippled, I restarted it like 3 or 4 times. For the past 30 minutes I've been looking for a nice and simple tutorial, with my nerves shattered and tears in my eyes (I'm on my period, so that's that😅). You're video is brilliant👏👏👏 I finally know what I was doing wrong. Thank you so so much ❤️ have a blessed day! ❤️

I don’t understand how to make it flat tho? Mine keeps turning into a small bowl. I’m not sure if I’m making it too tight or not tight enough😩
@RachyyRach
@RachyyRach 3 жыл бұрын
That means you are pulling it too tight, thats why it warps in at the sides and look like a “bowl”

I hadn't come across any 'flat circle' tutorial like this! Most have the slip stitch to join, sl st join AND chain 1 🤦‍♀️ - - Sewrella, yours is PERFECT!! Thank you so much!❤️️

Thanks for getting me beyond squares and rectangles. Your videos are slow enough and explanatory enough for beginners and cack-handers like me, which many others really are not. Won't tell you how much rewind and re watch I did ... but I've gotten there, after days of other people's videos, an in person tutorial and plenty of ripped up rows and crinkly non-circles. Very grateful. You're a great teacher!

That way looks a lot more easier to.do, than other crochet ways, especially if your right handed as I am. Being an amateur, I keep getting mixed up with half crochet and double crochet, its so frustrating. I give it up as a bad day. But thanks for the tutoring. 👍👏👏👏💓xx

OK.. so great to get a great tutorial on creating a flat circle... Just want to know where to go from there.. Either how to end it so it doesn't look uneven, say, for a coaster, or to start going up, say for a round bottomed purse. Great to have this info. How much to increase/decrease has been difficult for this less experienced crocheter. Thanks for posting.

That's really all this tutorial is - how to create the shape of a flat circle, not how to create a project from it :)

If you want ,you can stop when it's big enough. They will still look nice( coasters). If you want more finished, there are some good tutorials for coasters crocheted, just search. Good luck to you. 👍

I believe you'd want it to be rounded , not flat. Can you search for slippers ? This is a FLAT circle. But hopefully someone else will help us out. Best to you.

This seems like a good tutorial, but it's really hard to see what you're doing when using white yarn with a white background.

Does this also work for half double and double crochet? No slip stitch to finish the round, and no chain at the beginning of the next round? I like this technique better because it looks more seamless, but I wonder if it would work the same for the other stitches.
@ArDeeMee
@ArDeeMee 2 жыл бұрын
It works seamlessly for the single crochet since that one is so flat. For half double crochet I would slip to close the round. Then begin with a single crochet, then continue with hdc. That sc will create an incline to make the transition less visible when you work right into it. The same goes for double crochets. Begin the second round with a single and then a half double crochet. With this longer stitch working in a spiral will be very visible, but it‘s really handy for making shopping bags etc. Just remember to use a stitch marker for the very first (or last) stitch, and end your work on an hdc and then an sc, mirroring the way you began.
