Bless you. I never noticed this feature I totally was blind to it. Thank you.

Great advice and easy to follow, especially as Strava crashed after I'd finished my short commute to work. I'm not fast, but it didn't take me over 8 hours to ride 3.5 miles...

Great tip! BTW right now the wrench is gone, you click on the 3 dots in about the same place.

Instead of the wrench button I have three small circles. When clicking there I only have 4 choices none of which are crop/split. It seems that this feature is now only for premium members which they now call "summit". What a bummer.

Yes, it's the three little circles. I was about to post that. Thanks : ) I have premium so I am not sure about feature access.

Hi, This is very useful. I just did a hike using strava; put phone in pocket. It only recorded .2 mi of the 6 mile hike. Is there a way to populate the complete hike, or this one a wash? Thanks.
@2trainyourself23 жыл бұрын
The only solution I can think of is to create an activity and add the approximate time and miles of the hike so it goes toward your overall activity. If you did it with a friend they could download their .gpx file, send it to you, and you could upload it to your profile. Hope one of these solutions can be useful!

I got a problem on the middle of my ride, due lack of mobile signal i had to use my Strava app on my phone on the airplane model but a pick on my ride activity appeared with high speed. Can you please help me with It. Many thanks

Okay, that partially helps me. I took a return ferry trip in the middle of my ride and didn't pause my Garmin!. How do I crop it out?
@2trainyourself24 жыл бұрын
you'll have to cut the ride into two separate rides. download the file so you can upload it a second time. Crop the end of the first one to be before the ferry and crop the beginning of the second one to be after the ferry.
@sergiobobbera87884 жыл бұрын
@@2trainyourself2 Thanks for the info. Because it's a return ferry ride I'm still not going to have to crop a 3rd segment! I don't think it's doable.
@whowasjohngalt2 жыл бұрын
@@sergiobobbera8788 It actually is possible now. It does not involve CROP, you can now do SPLIT. So I had to delete the middle of the ride, because it showed me riding while I was taking a break (1 hr,

Is it possible to crop a mid section of a ride where strava connection is lost.?
@2trainyourself23 жыл бұрын
1. Download .gpx file 2. crop first or second half of ride off 3. upload .gpx file 4. crop whichever end you didn't crop off in #2 This will result in 2 separate rides but should help you reach your goal of getting rid of the midsection

do i need to have Premium strava to crop my ride? I just did the same and drove home with strava still recording! doh
@2trainyourself27 жыл бұрын
wel5hy you don't need Strava premium to crop your ride. Good luck

What if took public transport during the ride and need to cut that section out?
@2trainyourself22 жыл бұрын
you have to make the ride into two separate rides. download the GPX file and cut off one end (ex. riding bus and after the bus part). then re-upload the GPX file and cut off the other end (ex. before riding the bus and riding the bus part). You will have two rides posted - 1 ride before using public transit and 1 ride after using public transit.

Is there any way to do this cropping or flagging from the phone app or do you have to go on a PC to do it
@2trainyourself25 жыл бұрын
I believe you have to be on a PC.

In February 2020 Strava added the feature so you can crop on your phone app. From the feed, touch the title to get activity details. In the top right corner touch the three dots to get more actions, there is Add Photo’s,Edit, Crop, Delete so pick crop and slide the finish flag back. You can pinch to zoom to see exactly where you stopped.

what if we want to cut error in the middle?
@2trainyourself2 Жыл бұрын
apparently there is a split feature now. If you can't get that to work you can download the ride file cut it down to the first half and then upload the file again and cut it down to the second half

Yeah log in to your strava account on your computer/laptop and you should have more options to edit than on your phone.

I think it'd be valuable to include how to zoom in, especially using the satellite maps, and how to use the forward and back buttons for finer increments. I believe there is also a way to crop using the activity time so that you can delete the time you spent loading the bikes and drinking Gatorade while sitting in the parking lot after your ride (or walk or run, or etc.). I'd like to know more about how to do that.
