Outstanding video Jay, I love it! Definitely expands the usefulness of the Atem streaming bridge. I have been holding off on getting a couple due to the limitation of just Atem users. This changes everything! Well done, kudos!

They do serve a purpose, I just wish it wasn't so limited which is why I found a way around it.

Given how simple of a change is needed to make it work, this almost makes me think this limitation in the Streaming Bridge is more accidental/lazy coding than something Blackmagic did to intentionally limit what can stream to it!

I was honestly surprised how easy it was. I do think they locked it down on purpose because they seem to require the "Blackmagic Design AVC Encoder" metadata flag. However, this requirement could most likely be changed with a firmware upgrade.

@@TVJAY I feel like if they were going to lock it down intentionally they'd come up with something a little less... obvious? But yeah I agree they could probably remove the limitation with a firmware update in the future!

This looks pretty useful, great find and problem solving. I'm going to have to take a look to see if I can compile something smaller like Nginx as a 'bridge' to the bridge. :)

I would love to find a way to have nginx flip the bits so any RTMP feed could work on the streaming bridge. If you figure it out, please share.

I am surprised this video haven't gotten much more views. Tons of people want to stream to the BMD Streaming Bridge without an ATEM Mni.

Do you think is there any chance to send video from a DJI Drone to the stream bridge ? Using the rtpm key from the streaming bridge.

Any other solutions? In that specified compiled OBS is possible to stream to another RTMP locations? I tried with NGINX RTMP and metadata copy but it does not work ;(

Yes this will still stream to other RTMP locations, it will just look like it is coming from an ATEM. I have not found any other solutions.

@@TVJAY Any luck with the Windows Version of OBS to stream to the streaming bridge? Any chance a plugin can be built that doesn't require downloading source and building it? I imagine you would need to go through this process to upgrade OBS to a new version????

@@seanfichera I have tried to build the Windows version but was unsuccessful. As for the plugin option, I am not a programmer so I am not sure about it but it sounds like something I should look at.

Good video! For those who have Windows, I was actually able to build the modified OBS using this tutorial, bear in mind however, that it is a bit complicated than Linux + I recommend you not having any special/non-English characters in your Windows name, it messes up the built in VS Studio (or you can just create the folder directly in C: drive). kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pp6EiZxessqxn40.html&ab_channel=TroubleChute

How far behind is the stream from actual playback? Just curious.

I don't remember exactly but it was significant. OBS is not very good when it comes to encoding and latency.

Is there any way how can I send rtmp or SRT from vMix to streaming bridge?

The newest firmware allows for SRT but the settings have to be just right. In theory it is possible but I kind of doubt it. Black Magic Designs kind of just threw the Streaming Bridge together so isn't the best decoder out there.

I am talking that sending srt or rtmp just not working when stream is sent from vMix. I checked settings and all, but just don't work. @@TVJAY

Yeah, that doesn't surprise me. Black Magic essentially made it so ONLY their stuff will work with the Streaming Bridge. There may be software/encoders that work with it but that is purely based on luck. I am told you can tweak OBS to stream to it these days without my work around (shown in this video) but I haven't been able to make that work. Basically, I would buy a different decoder box. I have good luck with the BirdDog NDI decoders since vMix supports NDI.
