Learn how to cut cork with a Cricut machine in this quick video. I am cutting both adhesive-backed cork sheets as well as cork faux leather. Use this video to get cut settings for cork and decide which product is right for your project. You may be surprised at the difference in cuts between the Cricut Explore and Maker machines. I have a Silhouette Cameo 4 and didnt even think of using it when I was cutting some cork today. I used a die and it game me a beautiful clean cut. I may just try my Cameo tomorrow.

Use my maker to cut cork leather, use the transfer tape always, been using the new extra sticky one cut upside right, use the cork for bags.

What type of cork do you use to your bags and purses? Thin Cork sheets, the cork w leather back or cork fabric?

@@georgianasalter I use cork with a cloth backing. My favorite is Sally Tomatoes. But I have used others that work well.

I am new to Cricut and very much enjoy your informative videos. I use a product called Decovil as an interfacing in bags. I would like to be able to cut my smaller pieces with my Maker. What settings would you recommend??? TIA Pataricia

I am not familiar with that material so I would run some test cuts. Probably try fabric settings and the rotary blade first.

Thanks for this. I made a mess of trying to cut cork and ended up using scissors. Needless to say the circles were wonky. Where do you get the leather backed cork?

What about doing the strong grip transfer tape over the regular cork and trying the test cut on the explorer? Do you think that might help with the edges being cleaner?

I think it would tear it up getting the tape off of the front.

Does the maker also print? If so, I was thinking that Candle dust covers would be lovely with the faux leather w cork back with company name/logo etc on it.

You would have to print anything you needed on a printer. You can draw with the Maker.

Thank you for this! I have the Maker and some cork with the sticky backing that I need to cut to size for coasters. It’s about 1/16 inch thick though. Do you have any suggestions on a setting I should use? Thanks in advance!

I would use probably the heavy fabric setting and the rotary blade.

A Cricut machine is not going to be able to do this. Usually people use a laser for this process. You can see if something like a scorch marker would work and burn it in.

What about the Black blade in the explorer?

That is just a deep cut blade. It will not change the fact that the Explore drags the blade through the material.

You would not be able to engrave with a Cricut on these materials. A laser would be your best bet for that type of craft.

I have a pattern where I cannot use the rotary blade for the cork. There are some small holes that the rotary blade cannot cut. What setting would you use for that?

All you can do it try some cut settings with the deep point blade. It will be tough to get a clean cut.
