I've deep dropped for tilefish, black sea bass and rosies but never sword. I've seen guys with the electric reels but I always just worked my Penn to get them up. It's hard work but satisfying.

Joshua carrico triple or quadruple the depth you'd fish for rosies and tilefish and add 6 lbs to your lead

@@georgewilliams7078 recreational fishermen use electrics all the time when it comes to swordfishing. I personally like hooker electric because we can use the electric to check bait and hand crank when we get hooked.

You can give them a quick soak in menhaden oil, or fish un-sauced. Caught fish both ways. It does give a bit more confidence with a little scent on it.

I have deep dropped for rock fish here in California and we stay at about 300 feet and just a 10oz weight with a two speed tuna reel is a lot of work of just reeling it in

Exactly, thats why you use 250 pound test. The fish tries to get in the boat as fast as it can.

The reel is built by Lindgren Pitman. The captain we are fishing with uses it for his commercial fishing endeavors.

I don't know if you do the commercial fishing but it seems like all the commercial fishermen that go out and catch these fish only catch one or maybe two and a good with that s*** you don't burn or elsewhere to gas just getting there I was just curious man why do y'all just go after one and not 10 something we all can make some money there's money to be made on that water and y'all got the utensils you got the boats you got the poles you got the manpower and you got the licenses man make that money bro you can man anyway but good luck have a great life Vinny

6 years and you still haven't fixed it. Others complaining about it too. Read subtitles? Really? What was someone using foul language or something in the background, or saying where you were and you didn't want anyone to hear that? How does audio just drop out like that? Obviously it WAS working just fine. Seems sketchy. What could be incriminating about a Sword fish tutorial video????

in what world can this be considered fishing? manipulating buttons on a robotic rod and reel system...and the fish was just as dead as this soulless fishing method. if the goal is just to land a big fish for the photo op why not just use depth charges.

Actually in New Zealand and possibly Australia most people that deep drop reel in the fish by hand. Utah Fishing is right the electric reel is pointless and no fun as you don't even get to fight the fish
