Hi David. Quick question, my mom will rush to my place to unload her negativity. What should I do, if I can't leave the room? Because leaving her "unattended" would be disrespectful.

I love how positive David was about describing his mum despite the negativity she may have brought at times. That level of acceptance was really touching and nice to see. I'm used to hearing people speak negatively about the negativity of others often especially with family members, but it's more important to see them as a whole spiritual person rather than "negativity". They need our love

David and Alex...this session was wonderful. Your open and authentic discussion has opened my eyes. I never realized how much time and energy I use on silly topics with critical and judgemental people. I finally understand that I can control my words with kindness and simply excuse myself instead of holding intense frustration and swinging on that pendulum. Thank you!!🙏🙏

There is a difference between judging and discerning. Narcissists, sociopaths, psychopaths... these are the people who lack empathy, and you do not want them in your life and around your kids, even if they are members of your family. Yes, they were made this way, most of them, and they are beautiful people below the layers of conditioning they received in their childhood, but that does not excuse their behavior. Doing so places the blame on the victim and does not validate his or her reality.
@WuWeiWisdom

Hi Jen thank you very much for your comments. There is a big difference between being discerning and making judgements to being 'judgemental'! You should be making discerning judgements about the people in your life, especially around the children you are caring for or are your responsibility. You do not have to make a personal psychological judgement on the person's personality or character such as: narcissistic, psychopathic or sociopaths. Unless of course, you are professionally qualified to do so. I would suggest that you take full personal responsibility and appropriate action for you and the children you are caring for. This will encourage you to make truthful, honest decisions that demonstrate your integrity and ability for appropriateness. I thank you very much for watching our videos and taking the time and trouble to comment. David

You really should refrain from speaking of things you know nothing about, psychopathy actually tells you very little about the persons predicted behaviour, it tells you about potential propensity, nurture plays a massive role in what path a psychopath takes ranging from bad upbringings making them killers to good upbringings making them the best surgeons, rally drivers, fighter pilots and fathers etc so no it isn't a black and white equation where psychopathy equates to bad person, it does not.

I will need to listen to this again.. I've been led to this Wu Wei Life.. I still have both my parents! One is very negative, depressed, wishes he could turn time back by a lot of years but has a kind loving heart, the other is cruel negative! She dislikes me, isn't nice to me but adores my brother! He has made so many mistakes etc but he can't do wrong in her eyes. What I'm learning is it's not my job to make my mum like me or accept me. I am good enough and I'm ok.. Her horrible negativity and dislike of me is hard to take but I'm sure this path will guide me and help me through it... 🙏🏼

I recently made a decision to move and support my parents 'transition home' with love, ease and grace. I now understand and realize that I'm doing this for my spiritual soul, not for them! That message was a huge aha moment for me. I'm looking forward to engaging the Face Book community for support and guidance as I embrace the next step in my journey. Wow thiswas very interesting!! And yes its about you in the end My father has very challenging dementia My mother takes care of him alott at home I do my best to take my mother out and give her some distraction,and she likes that But alott of times when iam with her she unloads at me about my father because she still takes things personally from his behaviour etc Iam not superior but i dont take anything serious of him because he is sick with dementia and dont even knows what he is saying But sometimes when i go for a walk etc with my mom,just today hihi,she goes like "oh your father this,he shit in his pants again, he is soo negative,he does nothing,only watches tv" etc etc But i discovered that if iam in a good mood its like what you say,water of a ducks back hihi But when my mood is not so good i judge her for being so negative etc and create a little redlights But i create it because i judge and critisize her in my head In the end,its about me, if iam balanced or not And when i see it with compassion,she has a very tough time caring for my father And i see them maybe 3times a week,but she day in day out Whats sometimes difficult for me ,is that she gets angry with him And then i feel sorry for him because he is sick and is not accountable anymore for his behaviour However,i learned very much that iam not responsible and dont have to/cannot fix them This challenge with my fathers dementia has tought me so much: to be patient, to accept what i cannot change, to accept the unknown of the future, that i only control myself(thanks to your teachings❤❤) and that however someone is acting,behaving etc,you can still love them unconditionally Whatever,long story hahaaa The short version of what i wanted to say: thanks for this video and other videos❤❤ i just came back from walking with my mother,and created redlights, and i see now that i create them because i judge her for being sometimes negative Thanks❤❤ I just came home and did the golden thread It came down to my believe that you must never be negative because thats very bad This believe comes from when i was young,my father was very negative ,just like your mom,and he kind of projected that on me when i was little ,by critisizing me and projecting on me that i was negative and was to sensitive and couldnt handle his "jokes" etcetra I adopted this believe that you allways have to be positive and sometimes be negative is very very bad etc Comes down to not being enough,not lovable But this believe i found out some times ago and its almost out of my system Only once in a while it pops up and iam aware of it now Okay this was my story whaha Have a great day you 2 and thanks for all your teachings❤❤❤love you❤

Hi @infinity-vv4yj, Thank you for sharing your heartfelt journey. It’s evident that you are navigating a challenging situation with great awareness and compassion. Your ability to understand the deeper dynamics at play and reflect on your own beliefs is truly inspiring. Caring for a loved one with dementia is incredibly demanding, and your support for your mother is commendable. Recognising when your own balance is affected and using tools like the Golden Thread is a testament to your dedication to personal growth and understanding. Remember, being kind to yourself is just as important as showing compassion to others. Your journey is about maintaining your own Shen spirit amidst these challenges. Stay strong and continue to find peace within. Kind Regards, David P.S. We'd love for you to join our community: facebook.com/groups/wuweiwisdomcommunity/

Aren’t we all both people at different times. I can relate to having someone who is negative in my life but I can also relate to sometimes being in a negative place and needing to explain and express what I’m going through. I like that you said not to label someone who is being that way in that moment because there will be a time when someone sees you that way( none of us can be positive all the time. ) and you wouldn’t want to be labeled.there is a difference though between the people who just want to express some negative feelings time and again and those who are projecting their negativity at you or others. That’s a different situation I guess.

Hello David, You were talking about your mom. And how you love her and think she's a lovely person and that you love her and that of course you haven't forgot about her. I have had the same issues with my parents but in my case I feel like I stopped loving them and I don't think about them and I don't call them and I am disconnected from them and everyone else a while ago. I believe like I am "unloving" and not "unlovable". And for me the evidence is that I don't care about them. I suspect I have disconnected from them as a protection when I was a kid.. but I don't know that for sure. Why do I feel no love for them nor anybody else ? Could it be that I am incapable of love ? I feel so alienated because of this and sometimes think of myself as a monster or a freak.

So im a bit lost with this one. You say that if people are being negative or set in one mind set we have to accept that, but is it okay or wu wei to walk away? I had a close best friend who always believed things would end badly and I would leave him, when I disagreed with him during a fight with another friend and took a stand for my beliefs he refused to trust me again. He held me at arms length, saying I betrayed him and I couldn’t do anything to change his mind. Our friendship changed dramatically after that, he would always find things to fault me for and after a while I simply got tired of him complaining about our close friendship changing but always pushing me away and I felt myself slowly believing him and then fighting with myself to get out of it. After seven months I thanked him for everything and left, not seeing where else this could go. According to this I wasn’t supposed to do that? When someone doesn’t want to relate to me in a relationship is it okay to leave or was that some lesson I have to learn because I don’t see a point in staying around that negativity for nothing.

"do not label them", they are unbalanced. Isn't that a label too? Another thing is that every encounter will lead to a disagreement in applying a solution, how we should deal with that? Sometimes we are force to do something we do not like, and their temporary negative state will have more permanent effects in our lives.
@WuWeiWisdom

Hi Adrian, Thanks for your comments. I was NOT labelling them as being permanently unbalanced, rather the current energetic state they are creating as being unbalanced. As I explained on the video these 'labels' can become your identity if used. I did not quite understand your other points - why would you allow someone else's temporary state have a permanent effect on your life? David

She accepts this, however she always comes back to this blame position and so I try to limit my time with her when she seeks to punish me.

Thanks for your question. I understand this must be difficult a difficult time for you. I would ask you to consider that although it is unpleasant at least she is talking to you. Many of my clients cannot have communication with their child. I would ask you to try the ‘Golden Thread Process' we demonstrate in many videos to explore her views and perceptions about her childhood experiences. It sounds as though you still have some important parenting to complete, I wish you well with that process. Thank you for taking the time and trouble to watch our videos and share your comments. Dont hide from her, try to be better now. You invite her to things you continue to check in on her. Now it's your responsibility to give her security. You lacked that security so until she feels secure she will not let her guard down. She cant be vulnerable if she doesn't feel secure from you Mom. I wish you the best of luck. #beentheredonethat

Hi Finnett, Thanks for your question, I would ask you to meditate on why you need to be judgmental at all? A more authentic response would be to concentrate on your life journey regardless of whether they are balanced, unbalanced, negative or positive. Wu Wei Wisdom hello, thank you for responding to me. I think because it affects us all I try really hard (more so since being shared one of your videos this week) to not let it affect me however with 4 children to consider I feel like it's up to me to make sure they know its the wrong attitude😕

What if in your work environment your immediate colleagues keep complaining, gossiping and talking negatively about others that naturally make you feel uncomfortable? How then can you protect yourself from all that negativity?
@WuWeiWisdom
@WuWeiWisdom 4 жыл бұрын
Hi SM Thanks for your question. I agree the work situation you describe is a great challenge, but also an opportunity for you to learn the valuable Life Lesson of NOT letting other people: colleagues, family, friends etc. affect or control your emotions. We call it the Golden Thread Process and demonstrate it on many videos. Basically, you have to find the thoughts and beliefs that create those emotions you are experiencing. Remember, you are the creator of your emotions NOT the victim. As you will appreciate it would be inappropriate for me to comment on personal issues without full knowledge, history and background. Therefore I can only comment in general terms. I would guess that you don't like the complaining and negative talk because it was something that deeply affected you earlier in your life and you were not able to control or deal with it. I think it boils down to key people in my life who complained a lot and talked negatively about others instead of appreciating others. I've also seen the effects of gossiping on others. I still think these behaviours do not benefit anyone and should be avoided but I'm aware that I cannot control others from doing it. I guess I'm stuck because I still believe people shouldn't do it and it isn't right.

I understand it’s important to be compassionate and stay positive, but I think surrounding yourself with very strong negative energy is a terrible idea because the negativity can slowly drain your positive energy and turn you into a negative person overtime, especially if you don’t stop the negative conversation and invite the person to give you more negativity further, the negative thoughts eventually will swallow you alive and make you become a person who constantly think negatively and into depression. It took me 4 year to change from a very positive person into feeling depressed all the time after being with someone with very dark and strong negative thoughts closely.

I do not agree with you. There are definitively negative people out there. And sometimes you can give it all and it DOES NOT BETTER a Situation no matter how hard you try. So your entrance comments make maybe some people feel as if they are the ones who make others feel bad, almost accusative. It seems you do show more compassion for those negative people then for those who have to suffer who are around them. I miss here the balance in your comments. We all have had or mostly had some times in our life that were hard. But that is no reason to trample in any way verbal , physical or emotional on others because of past bad life experiences. Forgiveness is necessary but some people over do being cruel to others and maybe even do not have ANY conscious what they do or even enjoy being nasty to others. Sometimes you do have to protect yourself as simple as that, and withdraw!!!

Hi, Artfulgirl Thank you for your comments and sharing your disagreements. I did not say there were NOT negative people - the video was about how to deal with them. It seems that we do have many disagreements about the subject of this video and I think you may have missed my point. Perhaps if you would like to bullet point your disagreements, then I can address them for you in order. Then we will be clear on our different views on this important subject. and I'm sure it will also help others with their understanding when exploring this topic too. This seems like an important topic for you so I would love to hear your constructed views and opinions. Thank you for taking the time and trouble for watching and commenting on our videos we appreciate your support. David
