I have been thru all this...what I learnt is that at the end it does not really matter, no matter what we achieve and what we become it will end one day and people will forget us....so we should just enjoy what we have instead of thinking about what not..Nice video thank you so much...

When you care there is fear, fear shows care I think. You can't care about something and not have any fear of losing it. I believe there is healthy fear and unhealthy fear. Most of us put our effort into our studies so that we get an education and live a reasonably good life... why? The reason is because we were scared of not having a roof over our heads, going to bed on an empty stomach etc. Now that is healthy fear, we cared about our future

“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5 This is another good one. It basically means that thoughts have no power over us, and that by acknowledging them (not denying them) we can take them captive. What often works for me is asking myself whether a certain thought I’m thinking is productive and glorifies God, and gives me a sense of peace or not.

Have you tried meditation? Have you realized that you are not your thoughts? But you can train yourself to become an observer of your thoughts; this is where having a quiet place to meditate is important. As an observer there is no need for you to form thoughts into words. You simply "act" as the observer of all your thoughts for a time without engaging the critical or judgemental part of your mind.

And I should know just how objectively difficult this is with my own years and years of practise.. learning from my own rather uninstructive mistakes and the learning from them as such. I guess I'm one of the few people that find more beauty in innocence, average looks, and ignorance. To me people without corrupted minds who are humble are more attractive. Universally high intelligence doesn't equal to wisdom, and results in hubris. And to me nothing is more offputting than a blindly overconfident person with a tunnel vision. Usually that hubris comes due to several factors. Looks, wealth, or status. Intelligence also doesn't mean "smart". Ability to create an atom bomb or a virus is "intelligent", but it's not attractive.

I'm struggling with overthinking for 3 years already. It even got to the point when I started having panic attacks which is scary as hell. I can't say that I'm over it but a few weeks ago I travelled to another city (that I love) and on one evening walk I just realised that I'm so sick and tired of overthinking and that I stopped "living" and enjoying my life at all. As I returned home I started to be more present (which is hard) and doing some art or meditations. Hope to stay on this track :)

One of the techniques that has helped me end cycles of overthinking that can last for a few days is telling myself "I am thinking this/that" or "I am feeling that...". By putting yourself as the subject and cause of your thoughts, and by taking accountability that it is you who are thinking them, you suddenly realize that they can just come and go, without changing the world or, more imortantly, without being caused by anything that is happening around you. Suddenly, you know that there is a high chance nobody else is thinking the same things and that they have not even noticed your insecurities. Usually, as soon as I say this to myself, I have a moment of epiphany kinda and I know the worries from the past few days have been foundationless. However, the important thing then is to learn not to beat yourself up for "wasting time" thinking unproductive thoughts. It won't take you anywhere.

Hmm. I overthink a lot, too. It' paralyzing. In the end, you feel like you'd rather not make a choice at all before you choose the wrong thing. I makes you feel overwhelmed with the responsibility you have for the decisions. It made me feel pretty helpless for a while. Now, I start to be a little more relaxed. I look at all the mistakes I made not with remorse but rather with sorrow. I accept that I cannot take responsibility for everything that goes wrong in my life. That I will make mistakes. And there's really not much I can do. I learned that I should to try to do things right. But I won't always succeed. That's life.

@@cynthiarosearosian7622 Ooff. I'm sorry about your friend. I've never had anything as drastic happen to my life (well, not since my dad died). Try to stay in contact with your friends who move away. About finding out what to do with your future, that's not easy, either. I haven't really figured it out yet either. The way I learned to relax is by making a few big mistakes and noticing that neither could I have done much better with the knowledge I had nor did I have much help. I wouldn't really recommend that. But then again, maybe there's not much you can do to avoid it. Don't think to much about what you could have done better. Think about what you will do better the next time. Focus on the future. Mistakes are made. Don't dwell on them too much. Concerning what to do? Try out things. Try doing things you do well, try doing things you enjoy. Try finding something that gives you enough money to survive. Not everybody has a dream job. That's ok. Some people find fulfillment in their hobbies or their family instead. Lastly, here is some advice from Anthony Hopkins I appreciate: Keep going! Don't let questiond in your head hold you back. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ppmFocKW3tvdf30.html Anyway these are just the thoughts of a 24-year old. It's not like I have it all figured out. Good luck!

@@ramramanathan4760 How are you now? To feel better reduce negative thoughts. Your breathing is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives good relief from stress-anxiety. To relax sit on a chair or lie down, neck straight, eyes closed and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 5-10-15 minutes or more. Don’t fight your thoughts. With daily practice the mind will relax. No deep breathing needed. Do the practice without any expectations. When taking a walk, at office, in college, when reading, before sleep etc observe your breath sensations. Like me, make this a lifetime daily habit to have a better life. Reduce negative social media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Best wishes--Counsellor.

My gf stumbled across your channel today and we played this video and how to stay calm videos. They really helped me and couldn’t have come at a better time. I left my job in retail as a grocery manager to work at etrade. Right now I’m studying for my licensing and I failed my first test by 4 pts. So I found myself scared and doubting if I should have done this. Leave my comfort zone and take on a high pressure situation. But you and her have helped me learn that it’s okay regardless of what happens. No matter what I will come out better because of this situation. I believe in myself but I also realize this isn’t my dream job and it’s okay to try things. If it works out great, but if it doesn’t I know I will be okay and I’m learning to accept that 😊 thank you

I have solved this by using meditation. When i started meditating i became more compassionate and accepting toward myself and my thoughts. Now rather than saying no to any thought or dwelling on it i would say "you are welcome here too. " and feel it more fully and it automatically become less troublesome. 😇

When you are overthinking you should write it down and reread this once the situation is over. I once got an opportunity to work in a team but were absolutely not sure if I could handle all this. Today I'm fully involved in much processes and have learned and grown alot through this. I always reread the chat with the team leader and sometimes have to smile a bit about how insecure I was then. I am still extremely insecure and overthinking but this helps to overthink a bit less in every situation.

school system makes me anxious, thats why i overthink too much bcuz of homeworks, tests, and society’s pressure that makes us kids, who doesn’t know well what is life, like your success in life depends on how successful you are at school. moreover, the facts that every freaking ppl judge you, by what you do, and each of your mistakes are not available and will be noticed (thats also how the school systems works currently) destroys your self-esteem, and then you try to be perfectionnist which makes it worse, and thus you overthink more and more, to fall into depression and to slowly die inside...

I couldn't agree more. I can relate to everything you said in the video because I do struggle sometimes from overthinking, especially when it comes to making decisions about my future. I think the reason for that is because I love seeking out logical reasons and analyzing things, so If I couldn't find any valid reason to do something, I would just either leave it or overthink about it until I found a valid reason. However, over the past 3 years, I've been dedicating myself to take actions rather than think about them because I have realized that the amount of time I spend on thinking in comparison to doing is ridiculous. In short, one piece of advice I would give is to focus on productive overthinking because I believe that if overthinking is accompanied by a lack of productivity, it will make you less energized and more anxious.

hello, everyone, here are my current thoughts on overthinking and going through fears and things we may not necessarily want, to create something we will eventually be proud of: I like this topic because I’ve recently learned that a big halt in personal development and success is letting our emotions being the sole provider and reasoning behind why we do things - even though we all know this shouldn’t be the case. Yes, we have emotions regardless, but most should be simply acknowledged as you would a bird and let it go, not every action we make necessarily requires emotional intelligence, especially considering you’ve done said action many times enough to know how to do it with your eyes closed. Keep your creative energy and emotions ready for new, intellectual input. Our human brain kills off our brain cells as we age for the purpose of making life easier! Eventually, things will feel like autopilot. The hardest thing is motivating yourself to go out there and keep learning and stretching what you already know. That’s how masters and gurus are nurtured. It’s self disciple and a solo journey. Perhaps what most of us can relate to is going to a job you hate, for example, and to stretch time you zone out emotionally. This is very harmful and neglecting your emotions makes way for an outburst and confusion later on down the line. In these moments, be mindful of the relationship between your actions and thoughts so you can identify your fears or true intentions. It sounds simple yet negates a lot of introspection and effort. I know this was long but I hope it helped a bit. :) p.s. beautiful video - it came at such a sound time in my life. Much appreciated, Lana 💕

I've been always someone who'd overthink even the simplest things. Even when it comes to buying a certain item I'd watch a ton of videos about it, read about it more in order to truly know what I'm getting. Same applies to bigger things in life. Lots of times I'm puzzled about what future holds in hand, but one of the great ways to deal with something like this is to really take it one step at a time and not trying to solve everything at once. In a way honestly it's not a bad thing. For many of us it might even be some sort of a self defense mechanism from getting into trouble or some stupid situation. Guess it makes sense 😅

I tried to meditate, breathing in and out, trying to calm my mind and try to find something that keeps you from thinking about your worries especially listening to the sounds of the atmosphere or rain sounds. It will help the brain focus on the sound. So I try to remember what kind of sound I like and which one helps me. Until I started making videos myself in hopes of helping others.
