How to declare a foreign bank accounts to the French tax office?

How to complete form 3916, which enables you to declare your foreign bank accounts to the French tax office (Impots). Yep, it's compulsory... We usually do this with our French income tax form and you have to add your N26, Revolut of TransferWise accounts. As their headquarters are abroad and your IBAN is starting by GB or DE, it is a foreign account.
If you have forgotten to do this, it's never too late.

Thanks so much for this Valerie. Very helpful. Someone said to me you only have to do one form if all the accounts are with the same bank. Do you know if that is correct?

I'm afraid that you have to do one form for each account, as you have to give the account name/type and what it is used for. You might for instance have a personal current account and the business account with the same bank.

@@StartBusFrance Thanks so much Valerie! I have one account that is not taxed in the UK (because it is a cash Interest Saver (ISA) account) but there is no interest income earned on it. It is zero. Do you know if I should I put this zero in interest income somewhere? Do you know where that is?

@@simonsmatthew the interest from foreign accounts normally go in form 2047, but has there is no interest to declare... www.impots.gouv.fr/sites/default/files/formulaires/2047/2022/2047_3872.pdf

Hi Valérie, Thank you very much for this video. Could you please please do a quick updated video please because they have changed the form 3196, it's now got 7 sections to complete and I'm not sure what each section is for. For me, I have just personal bank accounts - not buisness or company accounts. I am a member of a British Facebook Group about completing French Tax Forms and the 3196 and I would love to direct them to your KZfaq video. I'm sure it will help a lot of people. Thank you.

Hi Shrophire Lad01. I'm afraid that the PDF forms won't be published until 21st April onto Impot.Gouv.fr, so I won't be able to el you until then.

@@StartBusFrance Hi Valérie, thank you very much for taking the time to reply. I printed the forms off yesterday they are 3196 Bis from the French Website.
