Welcome to this week's How To! Today, I'm diving into one of my most requested topics: how I declutter and organise my wardrobe. Join me as we tackle it together and uncover my wardrobe organisation secrets!
As the seasons change, it's the perfect time for a wardrobe refresh. I'll walk you through my process, from sorting through clothes to deciding what stays and what goes. With a few simple questions like "Do I love you?" and "Have I worn you recently?", it makes it easier to cull the clutter and keep the items you value the most.
I'll show you how I categorise into different piles: charity donations, selling, storing for next season, and even a "maybe" pile for those items I'm not quite ready to part with. I also share tips on hangers, storage solutions, and the importance of being practical over purely aesthetic.

Thank you for the video -- helpful and motivating. If I can share a tip, at the beginning of each season I take all the hangers and face them in the same direction (with the hook facing away), then each time I wear an item and put it back into the closet, I hang it with the hanger facing the other direction. This serves two purposes. First, it encourages me to wear a variety of items (those still hanging in the original position) rather than falling into the habit of wearing the same familiar items. But second, at the end of the season, you have a very clear idea of which items you never wear and that it is probably time to find a new home for. I have always put away clothing that isnt being used for the season . I love doing this as the cloths last longer and its exciting when you bring out something that is 5 years old still in good condition and people will ask me about the clothing as they think its a new piece . went is nearly here for us so all the jumpers and jackets come out . Its a really good way to keep youn wardrobe fresh xx And I keep all my formal or dressing things in a tub in my wardrobe. As its close by and I can grab it when needed . That skirt is divine for winter x

My friend is one of the chicest women I know and she organised hers by literally buying nothing, including jewels, for 12 years, other than underwear and running shoes, and she didn't have a ton of clothes to start with. At the end of 12 years she reviewed what she had missed having and not only bought nothing but got rid of about 20% of what was still in there. She works at a fashion magazine and she said not one single person seemed to notice she just wore the same clothes on rotation for over a decade. She also said nobody notices if you wear Balenciaga to Asda or M&S to the Met Gala; if it fits you well and suits you all they notice is your hair and jewellery.

Hi Charlie! I clear out every 6 months. I make most of my clothes, though so I generally wear everything that I own. As for hangers, I prefer the velvet ones. However I never hang any knit fabrics like jumpers, t-shirts, cardigans etc. I like the fact that they are thin and the clothes don't slide off them. They're not suitable for knit fabrics as I think that they'd stretch them more. I've really enjoyed watching your video. It's very motivating 😊

Try looping your belt buckles over the hook part of the hanger, they won't fall off that way. You should be able to fit all your belts on there

Thanks Charlie, I do similar but twice a year although very guilty of holding onto ‘just in case’ items. I would just say that red & a pop of red is very on trend this year so if I had those pumps & the jacket I would be keeping them as they are a very ‘you’ way of being current. I’m rather jealous of the pumps. xxx

I wouldn't have put the red jacket away that would be stunning with a navy linen trousers simple white t-shirt for summer kinda nautical look.

The thinner hangers are great if there's not much wardrobe space but I do find them too wide for my tops. They don't finish at the shoulders but miss-shape the sleeves. They are designed more for men's shirts than women's. I haven't come across smaller sizes.

I ordered the children’s size velvet hangers to solve that problem. I saw them on Amazon and they are like 12 inches instead of 18 like the big ones.
