How to design a throttle body for an ITB kit

Жыл бұрынTips and tricks what you should consider when you are designing a throttle body for your intake system with individual throttle bodies.
To be able to make the whole design you should have additional knowledge of:
- mechanical engineering skillset,
- 3D modelling,
- creating technical drawings for manufacturing,
- tolerances and fits,
- surface roughness.
In this video I show 2 sketches for design solutions when you are dealing with a throttle body for you ITB. Both plain bearing (bushing) and ball bearing design is shown.

Nice part. How about sealing the inner part(middle of the throttle plate), between the the two flaps?

It is not necessary, but you should make sure that the diameter of the bore is not too big.

Have you designed for a 6 cyl? Is it any harder? Considering to build a set for my m20b25

It is almost the same, you should make some minor modifications and some extra linkage parts.

If it doesn't cost too much to make these, you could sell them. I'd consider buying 3 sets.
