This is a great tutorial. It's not often that you think of Illustrator as a platform where you can achieve any significant degree of photo realism, but this comes very close. For those who haven't seen Dagubi's tutorials before, the only thing I will suggest is either really familiarizing yourself with the program environment, or stopping and starting the video frequently so you can find the tools being used. (If your work environment is not setup the same as his, you might find some tweaks or other paths to controls are in order.) But this is a beautiful project, and really worth studying so the techniques can be used in multiple projects.

Running into one problem, when I go into "3D Revolve" I seem to get a grey sphere, and not a transparent sphere like you, and I cant see to understand why it happens, its really frustrating, here is an image to explain what Im refering to. prntscr.com/mmgzem
