Жыл бұрынThe immune system can and does fight all herpes infections. When an individual contracts herpes, the immune system responds in multiple ways. Both the innate and adaptive immune responses take place. Infected cells can release signaling molecules detected attracting immune cells that can kill infected cells. Antibodies against the virus are produced that will neutralize any virus in the blood.
What the immune system can not do is eliminate the virus from nerve cells, these are usually immune privileged sites and the virus can become latent there. The virus can sometimes block the production of signal molecules so that the infected cell is not identified by the immune system.
The immune system is constantly, actively working against the virus which why cold sores appear when people have other infection that the immune system is responding to.
Sunburn can temporally wipe out immune system cells in the skin, allowing the virus to break latency and spread to other cells, causing sores.
Stress and fatigue can cause immune suppression, allowing the virus to break latency and spread to other cells, causing sores.

My husband had herpes around his mouth and around his eyes for about 6 years. Dermatologists were never able to do anything. I read about L lysine taken by mouth. Started giving him 1000mg per day but didn't do anything, then I read somewhere else that he needed 3000mg per day, I did that and than God in about a week his face was clean from that and it has been 5 years already and it has never come back.

I'm 75 and get cold sores, instead of a cold! The cold sore lasts 2 weeks, just like a regular cold. At first tingle on my lip, I hold a ice cube to it on and off all day, this shortens the lift of the cold sore, my mother hand them all her life.

The last time I got a cold sore, I went to a pharmacy to get some medication for it. The pharmacist didn’t sell me anything. Instead, he said I should put ice on the sore especially when you feel that first tingle. Keep icing it throughout the day. I couldn’t believe how something so simple was so effective. That advice was almost 10yrs ago and I have never had a cold sore since. At the first tingle I go straight for the ice and it stops it that very day every time.

I've also found that at the first sign of that dreaded tingle, put a drop of tea tree oil on it several times that first day. Stops it dead in it's tracks!

I clicked on this video just to see if you mentioned COCONUT OIL, and you did. Thumbs UP. About ten or so years ago I started noticing that whenever I went to the barber and had a shave, within 24 hrs I'd start feeling the tingling and inevitably it came. Embarrassing, to say the least when it's on your lips. I actually stopped going to the barber and started shaving myself but they would still pop though not as often. Don't know how or why but I started using coconut oil after shaving and have not had a single occurrence since. The thing is magic. Now I use it all over my body because of the other benefits like hair growth etc. I also notice that when I use it on my underarm before applying deodorant my 'HBO' remains at the good end of the spectrum for longer. I've grown to love the smell and feel of it and so I just use it like a lotion. I apply it all over generously after a shower. For the underarm, I put about four to five drops in my palm, rub them together and massage a palm under each armpit for a couple seconds. Then I apply my customary deodorant and go my way. If I'm not going out I don't even bother to apply the deodorant. Actually, the deodorant isn't even necessary at all according to my observation but I apply it after the coconut oil just for the fragrant effect.@@nikki7369

As soon as I feel a fever blister starting I take an icecube to it and hold it there until it's melted away. Stop's it before it gets a chance to get started good. The cold zaps it. An older lady told me that 20+ years ago and I've never needed anything else to get rid of one.

I use Lysine every time. I feel my lips get dry, or a tingling sensation in my lip. I take Lysine and I never get the fever blister. If the fever blister comes, lets say, overnight, I load up by taking 4 lysine 3 times a day. The fever blister is gone in days and with much less discomfort. I have never found anything better. A colleague once told me she takes one lysine every day with her vitamin and hasn't has a fever blister in years. I never heard of monolaurin -- I'll look it up.

I wish I'd known about this in my early 20s when I'd get one every couple years or so - usually when I was under extreme stress. I'll make sure to keep some Lysine around just in case. Thanks, I get the outbreaks on my lips, usually after a fever or extreme cold. After a diagnoses of pre diabetes, I eliminated most carbs and sugars, also adopted a healthy eating with plenty of veggies, fish, some meat, good oils. I have noticed that I had not had an outbreak in the last two years since I changed my eating habits. Not only that, I no longer have acid reflux that was becoming a problem for me.

I have been in the carnivore lifestyle for a long time now. My life has changed dramatically. But I have also noticed that I have had no herpies breakout since I have only been eating animal food. Sugar has been cut in a major way. Best, CT

I get the cold sores if I’m in the sun too much. I do get in the sun at least 15 minutes a day, but when I get too much, I seem to get one. You’re so right about stress, too.

Your straightforward approach to this subject is appreciated. Also, if I do get a cold sore, I apply coconut oil directly (antiviral, antifungal and antibacterial) to the sore and inside my mouth. It really helps! Blessings.
