As the Auto Fanatic I put this alloy wheel detail regimen video together today after I received many requests from viewers who liked my 30-minute wash regimen. I am demonstrating this on my Shelby GT350 but the technique and process applies to all cars. If you have any high performance car with high carbon content brakes you must watch this video to make your like easier. I do this regimen 4 times per year, takes about 1 hour and will make routine washing much easier. Protect your investment. This video outlines the process step by step including the materials I use. Carpro Iron X, and Carpro Tar X are the best wheel and tar cleaner on the market that ive tested. You can also use both products on the paint, to get rid of iron contamination (iron X), or tar. Trust me, its worth every penny.

If I have a big wheel from a Ram 2,500 do you recommend a heavy rubber wheel chocks? I think you have the plastic one and I don’t know if they are very light

I truly enjoy your videos. Since you deal with high end cars, what's your opinion on those ceramic coatings to protect the front of the cars that some people are doing nowadays? This wheel cleaner video is great. Thank you

the ceramic stuff works but its very expensive and if it gets scratched it becomes even more of a PITA to redo. I spoke to a customer today who paid a shop $1200 to coat his custom black wheels and they are still scratched up from washing so what was the benefit? Honestly i think people are going crazy with this new fad because everyone is driving new cars that are either leased or financed and are never going to go up in value so I don't see the reasoning behind it. I highly doubt doing a coating will increase sell or trade in value down the road thats just my opinion of being in the market and dealing with buying and selling of speciality cars. Also on any speciality car no buyer wants a coating especially on original paints whether its a car like a 2005 Ford GT or a 1965 Ferrari 250 thats a fact collectors are strict on these days.

From my understanding the stock pads put off a ton of brake dust so quick would this help also thought about going with some pads I seen on AM too cut down on the huge amount of brake dust

as soon as you cut down on dust you compromise the braking system that is a pure fact i have tried every pad compound over the last 25 years, these cars are means to be dusty and noisy by nature for their incredible stopping power

With the scratches on the inside the wheel polishing method wouldn't work to reduce those scratches?

Chad Jasmin nope its normal wear and tear only way to restore that is to strip and repowder coat the rims, not worth it for a daily driver. thanks for watching

I recently purchased a used Nissan GTR with gloss black rims previous owner didn't take care of them do you recommend a polished for rims not taken care of ?

remove them off the car and carefully polish them out, i do this all the time, takes some time but it works. use a 3 inch yellow or white pad, a suggested compound is Sonax Perfect finish or Griots Boss Fast Correcting Creme.

What socket are you using to take the lugs off? Is it special for wheel lugs or just a standard deep socket?

Very informative video. May I enquire where can you buy prepsol online? I am from overseas and it might not be readily available. Is there an alternative solution?

I put a link in the description from Amazon but not sure if they can ship overseas but the stuff I buy will never be able to be shipped overseas. If you can try to find a local auto body supply center and call to ask if you can purchase product over the counter. You want to use a commercial grade product for this job, Prepsol is so useful when working on cars it is worth buying a gallon. thanks for watching

depends over the winter i reapplied maybe 3 times during my normal washes to the face of the wheels not barrels. Once Spring hits il be doing a serious of detail videos on the car step by step

It's so unrewarding to wash wheels, they got dirty right back in the first drive. BTW you must have a lot of time on your hands to do this.

What is wrong with the wheels being made in China. Everything is made in China. If it were made in the USA it would be like 50% more expensive and give zero benefits.
