👉 Learn all about graphing exponential functions. An exponential function is a function whose value increases rapidly. To graph an exponential function, it is usually useful to first graph the parent function (without transformations). This can be done by choosing 2-3 points of the equation (including the y-intercept) and plotting them on the x-y coordinate axis to see the nature of the graph of the parent function. After graphing the parent function, we can then apply the given transformations to obtain the required graph.

Dude you are so good and structure. This is where most math teachers fail.. or at least mine. She jumps around a lot. Math need to be straight to the point from a -> b with steps by steps solution. Mine she jump in the process of finding the answer instead of writing it out step by step

I take online classes, where no one really teaches you how to solve a problem, it just tells you the next outcome. Where as when I watch these, I get an explanation and more realistic examples that would show up on quizzes. So these videos truly do shed some much needed light. I took Algebra 2 years ago and was expected to remember everything as I had to take Algebra 2 because I decided to finally graduate high school. Your channel really helps prevent me from having anxiety attacks from the pressure of failing. So thank you!

I cant find a single video explaining exponential functions the same way my teacher did it. When she would tell us to graph exponential functions, we use the "magical points" (-1,1/b) (0,0) (1,b) and then use x/k+d and ay+c to find the transformations and then graph it and find domain and range. Any videos that explain this?

How would you determine the asymptote for an exponential function that has been transformed? Without a graph.
@brianmclogan

no that the graph has an asymptote at y=0 so whatever the transformation is will just move the asymptotes as well

your input variables, f(x) represents the output. An easier example f(x)=1+x Plug in 2 for x and you get f(x)=3 so the point on the graph is (2,3) Same Idea here just with exponential function
