Hi jack, We love the Synchronika too! We do have parts available for ECM machines. If you ever need one it's best to give our tech support a call to make sure you get the right part. They can also verify you actually need a part. Something as simple as a tripped high-limit switch can look like a bad heating element. At this point we do not have a schematic for the Synchronika. But within our support wiki for the machine: wiki.wholelattelove.com/ECM_Synchronika We do have a parts diagram in pdf form: wiki.wholelattelove.com/images/6/6e/SYNCHRONIKA_Parts_Diagram.pdf We are constantly updating the support wiki. Hi. I'm sorry, figured that since I wrote on a R58 video you figured that out. HA HA. Anyways, it is a 6 year old R58 and I've performed all tests in the video. However there is too much resistance in the hot water boiler, it read 40ohm. Reading 235-240v out of the circuit relays, but only 4V in, that can't be right? I'm not sure which cables to connect to with my meter to see if there is no continuity in the on/off switch. Really appreciate your answer.

No, I'm sorry for not figuring out your machine! To check the switch first unplug the machine from power. With switch in on position check for continuity between terminals carrying the blue and white wires and black and brown. Sounds like you are on 240v power? I cannot speak with authority on voltage or resistance measurements as i'm in US working with 120v so there could be differences. Hi Marc, picking up this thread. I have changed the control box and now it turns on (steady green light), but the elements won't heat. The voltage is very low (130v vs 230v) but constant from both static relays. They are not alternating like they should. Any idea? Thanks again, Ill ship you some coffee for the help :)

Hey RC, It could be a number of things. First to check is the high limit thermostat on top of the boiler. If it trips the boiler will not heat and must be reset. Unplug machine and remove the 4 Allen head screws on the top cover. On top of the smaller boiler there are two wires going to the thermostat which has a red button i the middle. Push the little button to reset. Not certain this is your problem but easy to check and fix if it is.

Hi TD, If it's energizing the boiler heating element beyond it's set temperature I think there's a good chance you are correct.

Hi o, Not sure what issues you are seeing. I thinks it's like most things - go digging and you'll find people with problems. In many cases it's a user issues. For longevity the single most important thing is feeding a machine with good water which has enough minerals to support flavor but not enough to cause scale. Other maintenance items like regular backflushing is important as well. Over 10-15 years there will be maintenance like group gasket replacement and servicing of the E61 mushroom as well as steam and hot water valves. Hope that helps! Marc

Any chance the machine experienced freezing temperatures during your move? Common issue causing leaks is water freezing in machines when not drained for transport. That can rupture boilers and other components. Marc
