In this part 2 of 2 videos on how to dip your car at home, I show you guys how I spray my Accord and then how to peel the excess. I find this a fantastic way on how to protect your car from the winter.
I used 3 gallons of Black PlastiDip and then 1 gallon of Gold Metalizer.

Thanks for the video. I have two questions if you don't mind. First, do you ever spray the inside door panels so it matches the exterior? (That area when you open the door where it opens and shuts into). Second, how long do you wait after each coat to apply the next? Thanks dude

Remember to mention Tack Coats which you did. Bravo for that, but you HAVE to put first coat down from a little further away. This gives EACH following wet coat something to hold on to

Have you painted before. Because you look very skilled in the way you painted. How easy is it to come off with three or four coats applied?

I've plastidipped many cars but as far as painting comes, no I've never painted a car. Its going to be easier with more coats but I don't doubt you'll be able to take it off with three or four coats. It may take a bit longer but its still reversible.

you said not to put down wet plasti dip over dry plasti dip, what do you mean and what areas should you not do that for? also The only time you put wet over dry is when its a new layer correct?

Nice video. Do you have any tips for repairing a small section? A stone chipped a piece of the dip on my quarter panel. About the size of an apple. Don't want to have redo the whole car, but can't seem to fix this to my satisfaction.

It will cover them up. Last year I dipped a Ford Crown Victoria with 886000 kilometres on it with the original paint. Pick it up from DipYourCar.com. Grab a pro car kit and they should have everything there you need. Titanium Rabbit If you can have an enclosed area with ventilation, that would be best. Outside could work but just be careful that it isn't a windy day because your final results will show.

Joker Gregory Home Depot? WalMart. The best bay for buck one is the one from the DYC website only because it is the only sprayer designed ONLY for plastidip.

Thank you, great instruction! Can you elaborate on number of coats? If I am understanding correctly, it's 2 full coats matte black. 3rd coat is matte black spot shot. Then two additional full coats of matte black before your gold application. Or are the last three coats spot shots, and first two full? Or 5 full coats, but the 3rd coat is spot shot, making 6 separate coats?

Also, have you ever used a stencil to make graphic/art on a car? I was thinking of making a custom stencil and somehow peeling off that portion to have art in the negative. If I wanted white graphic, do you think it would work to spray white coat, put on stencil, then 4 additional black coats, peel off to reveal the white?

Hi, I have a 1974 Dodge Challenger that I'm thinking of dipping. It only has primer on it as of now. Would that be ok? Or does it have to be finished for the dip. Thanks!
