If you are adding subwoofers or upgrading door speakers you must do this first to avoid any issues

It worked on my 2017 impala. You figured out a problem I couldn't get anyone to answer for me! Thanks bro

Yooooo! You a real one for this. I spent like 5 hr installing my sub and it sounded like shit cause of the noise cancelling. This fixed it and now the car is rumbling. Thanks so much man.

My stereo sounds really bad like I have to turn it up almost max for it to sound “loud” and I have almost no bass. Even after changing all the speakers to brand new kickers. I have a 2021 would this fix my problem?

FYI for 2021 and newer, you have to disconnect all three microphones. You can disconnect them easily at the harness so no need to cut wires.

But what exactly are you cutting out why is it installed if we don't need it, I have a 2019 RS model it has a microphone like this on passenger and driver sides, dies it matter which side I cut? Do I need to keep one? Cut both? I'm not getting a humming feedback on my system I'm getting random base bumps it only does this every couple of monthsbut it goes all day long and won't stop until I turn the car off for the day, turning the car off and restarting it multiple times same day does nothing PLEASE HELP For reference my system is still stock radio head touchscreen but the subs are two 10 inch Kenmore and a Kenmore amp

Active noise cancellation (ANC), also known as active noise control, reduces the perceived level of road and wind noise by creating sounds through the factory stereo that, when combined with the noise, cancel each other out. The system works using signals from a series of microphones placed around the vehicle. These signals are inverted and after appropriate processing and delays, sent to the larger speakers in the car. The audio signals produced by the speakers mix with the noise information and cancel each other out. The result is a much quieter cabin and minimal added weight compared to passive noise solutions like sound deadening. When you hook up aftermarket subwoofers you will get what is called a feed back loop were you will hear low rumbling sounds coming from it like a heartbeat. I cut the passengers side mic because I'm not sure if the driver's side is connected to your blue tooth mic. I just did that just to be safe. You just need to cut one mic and it will shut down the ANC system.

Hey man My girlfriend had that same problem and I removed the rear mic and it went away BUT. A few hours later we got in and it did it again. Why would that be. Do I need to remove all of them ?? And if I remove them all. Will that affect. Calls. Like talking on the phone through the car ??
@DjKamikazee2 жыл бұрын
it sounds like you ANC is still trying to connect so i would disconnect on of the front mics to see if that helps
@eddieversatile6153 Жыл бұрын
It’s even easier than this. If you look up under/behind the glovebox you will find the actual radio up above the kick panel. There is a Violet w/ Blue stripe wire in the smaller plug. Just cut that one wire and you don’t have to get behind the mics in the headliner

I have a 2017 Malibu Lt with six speaker Bose system and factory amp. My subs only make noise when I start the car for maybe 10 seconds then stops or unless I open the door it stops. I close the door it starts again then stops, very annoying. Will unplugging the mic stop noise with a Bose system. Don't want to lose any voice call functions or anything
@DjKamikazee2 жыл бұрын
your be fine unplugging the mic I'm still able to use voice commands

Or just follow the wire up a little further and unhook it at the connector so you don’t cut your wiring. It’s hard to reach but you can.
@jmgtrplyr19842 жыл бұрын
thats exactly what I did
@harrisongrant22992 жыл бұрын
Why wont it unhook? I undid the red safety clip and it still wont remove

*Update for the active noise cancelation* Do not cut any wires! The passenser side mic wire runs and connects to the other mic on the driver side. Go to the driver side mic remove the door seal and carefully pull down the headliner just enough to squezze your hands in there. Follow the mic You will see the connector. First pull the red lock then pull the connector and you are done!

I want to keep my steering wheel controls and Bluetooth mics on my 18 malibi, is that possible if I put in a system

@@brycemorgan6708 You will have to purchase an interface that will retain the use of the steering wheel controls and the use if the factory Bluetooth mics

I’ll need to check that out. Just like this car my amp is under the passenger dash and I can’t find the anc module. It’s not in the center and not in the trunk but there does appear to be another device next to my factory amp under the glove box.

@@DjKamikazee Thank you, I was able to find the Purple/blue wire at the amplifier under the pass. side dash. took about 2 minutes. On the older Malibu's this wire was in the trunk, new Malibu's are under passenger side dash. Appreciate the Video and the response.
