Einother View I live in Florida so had to go with the soft top. Two patches and up to folds 3/4 back in seconds. Fantastic for driving places and I can throw it back up really fast 😊

does it really save fuel around town? It's my understanding that engine needs a ton of fuel by being fired up..so every time it gets turned off and then turned on, it needs that boost to start up, which won't help saving the fuel at the end....plus, more wear and tear by shutting down and starting up all the time......

What’s up guys. How’s the comancheep project coming along? The second hood switch is only used for reference to the 1st one. Kinda like we do with the accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor and the brake switch. There are Two separate circuits monitoring these sensors and if they don’t agree with each other then it goes into default. No you don’t loose any features. I have tested the theft alarm and the remote start and both work fine with #2 hood switch disconnected. On the (IBS) intelligent battery sensor it monitors the current the battery is using During a stop start event. So if it can’t measure it then it will turn the system off. It is a lot more wear and tear. Supposedly they upgraded certain components like the starter, flex plate and other things to hold up to excessive wear and tear. And last but not least. Thank you for the kind words, and yes I would love somehow to do a collaboration or something with you guys. I have never done anything like that. I just started this channel in January this year and I’m enjoying passing along this information and creating a community. Let me know what your thoughts are joining the bleepinjeep team! So you are advising drivers not to wear their seatbelt.........? Or are you saying disabling the seatbelt chime disables SS?? Please respond.

I'm saying if you CHOOSE not to wear a seatbelt on your own accord ( I'm not suggesting anything) Then this is how to disable the annoying chime IF you have no seatbelt on. … and IF you disable the seatbelt chime as It worked for me, then the annoying Engine Start-Stop (ESS) is disabled at the same time. Meaning if you don't wear a seatbelt and hate that annoying chime, and you also hate the ESS, you can disable both in about 10 secs.

I will have to look into that Gerard. I haven’t seen that in there.

I fail to see how a hood sensor switch or intelligent battery plug "coming loose" would void your warranty. It seems to me these are the LEAST damaging things you could do to disable auto start stop.

@@BrandonHaneline thanks since I did not remove it yet it was unclear if there was actually a connection point to check continuity. I had all types of issues with warning lights no start etc replaced my aux battery and main battery yesterday. Will now start but still have a battery warning light and auto start unavailable light then show down occurs in a couple of minutes. Thank you

Whats up Todd. Hmmmm I think I prefer the #2 hood ajar switch method over the battery intelligent sensor. Wrangler is the only vehicle with 2 hood ajar switches so other FCA vehicle will have to disconnect the BIS(battery intelligent sensor) Thanks for the kind words. 👍

Unplug the battery intelligent sensor on the negative side of the battery post this will diss able to stop start system.

Jeep Informant Well, Brandon I’m back with another question.... Since I unplugged the under the hood switch to kill the ESS system, I cant access my trip odometers or my fuel mileage info page.... anybody else having this issue? Another question and only because I have not been to where I could find out for myself, does ESS Work in 4 whl dr?

No it doesn’t work in 4wd. Also if you move the shift lever over to the left when your in drive it puts in in manual mode which also turn off the ESS

Nice what color did you go with? I’m curious, who told you you could only get manual in a 2.0L?? That’s not true! You can only get 6 speed manualit in the 3.6. 2.0L is automatic only along with the diesel. I hope it wasn’t a salesman trying to trick you in to buying.....

granite crystal. we all looked together as we built the car together from the plant's form. only the 2.0 was registering for the 6 speed manual we tried selecting V6 it would remove the manual. Also the JT is starting to be available for order so we think they're switching engine options now

yes, i'm from Chicago. the dealer gave me a vin # and on the decoder It does state it will be a V6..lol guess ill really find out when it actually arrives not to worried about it i just want a manual. im currently in the Build status

No it will be fine. It’s designed and tested for this. Personally I do not like stop/Start. It’s just annoying.

Brian Murphy Hi Brian, Thank for the question. Sorry for the confusion. I’ll try to clear it up. So You can disable the stop feature by pressing a on/off switch on the dash And it will stay off the entire time until the key is cycled off then back on. Then you would have to press the button again. It’s not that big of a deal. But most people forget until they come to a stop. By unplugging the #2 hood ajar switch or disconnecting the intelligent battery sensor. You would never have to press the button. Thanks again. Hope this clears it up. 🙂

yeah, that was what I thought you meant. I thought you could just keep it in 'off' position, and it would stay off unless you turned it on. That will the first thing I disable. Second the camera.

Also the heat could be killing the battery. It’s been over 90’s here all summer. And I have been putting in batteries like crazy. I would take it to the dealer and see what code is in it.

If the Yellow auto stop start light is on. And You didn’t dis one to anything. Then there is a malfunction in the system. If you disconnected something reconnected and the light should go off.

We ended disabling the seat belt chimes and that does it too! Thanks for your reply. Now we know we have at least 2 options.

AWESOME. Thank you very very much. I had that start stop on my Range Rover Evoque- perhaps the worst vehicle I ever owned. Actually it was the worst vehicle I ever owned. Actually I leased it because it was a crazy 299 a month lease , to get people into the brand that otherwise couldn't afford it. I loved driving it but it was a horrendous vehicle. Always at the dealership. Pushing that start stop button every time I was in that thing made me crazy. I'm glad I don't have to live with it on the Jeep JL.

That is great to hear that you can control it with brake pedal pressure. Im sure with a little time the primary driver could control it never to come on. Thats awesome. For the 2 switches under the hood. The #1 hood ajar switch is for the theft alarm. and if it is disconnected the Remote wont work and the the alarm wont work. But with #2 Hood ajar switch unplugged the remote start still works and the alarm will still go off. if the alarm is set and someone breaks in. You can unplug the #2 switch and be ok. LOL, thanks for making me laugh. When you say it that way is sounds lazy. I think I’m more trying to describe as it’s aggravating to push the button every time. And yes I am hearing more owners talking about the pressure on the brake pedal. If you’re the primary driver of the vehicle then it would be very easy to pick up on the pressure needed not to activate it. But some people don’t mind. It’s there for reason. But a lot of others don’t. Thanks

The thing that gets on my nerves about it is that when I come to a stop and catch it at just the right moment. It will cut off when I am starting to let off the brake and it cuts off then immediately starts right back and kinda gives a delay on take off. Let me know in a couple weeks what you think. 👍🏻

sho942000 I’m all for capitalism and innovation, but Jeep didn’t just change what a Jeep is. They changed their target demographic too. Yes, the Jeep is one of the best selling vehicles today but today’s Jeeps aren’t made for the avid off-roader. They are designed to appeal to the urban weakened warriors who likely will never commit to serious off-roading, and who rather just use their Jeep to haul their kayaks, take a weekend camping trip, or just own one to pursue some social status. However, this kills the Jeeps bread and butter. After the 2nd world war the Jeep rose to popularity in the farming and off-road community. It was their sales that helped Jeep survive to what it is today, but as soon as Jeep got a leg to stand on it turned its back on those who carried it all those years before. Now it has lost its simple reliability and is nothing more then a glorified show vehicle for those with deep pockets.

I'm all for simplicity as well...but...with the masses, come regulations. I think it all has to do with population, numbers, and environment ie. more people equals more sold equals more pollution. As CJs, TJs, and YJs became more popular, JEEP sold more of them. The platform then became more mainstream and newcomers to the platform started to outnumber the purists who understood the original purpose of the vehicle and when, where, how they were used. The newcomers began complaining and suggesting what JEEP could do to make it better for the quasi-assimilated newcomers to the platform...and the purist just grumbled to themselves and went on wheelin' and modded their Jeeps even more to suit themselves and laughed at the wannabes. It's not a big secret that most Jeeps dont get modded save for the wheels and tires. So...what did JEEP do? Theyre not in it to lose money, so they catered to the numbers and by some default the loudest voices. Newbies wanted it more roomy, more "convenient", more stylish...and they got it all. And JEEP sold more Jeeps. And when you sell more Jeeps, you impact the environment more. So you gotta bow to the Govt and EPA and make your product more efficient and cleaner running or you dont get to play. And that takes computers and eelectronics. Which made the Jeep more expensive to build, diagnose, and fix when needed. And if JEEP hadn't added two more doors to the the Wrangler platform, it probably wouldn't be the best seller that it is now or since...and JEEP could have killed it off as no longer a viable product for them or maybe even sold it off to another conglomerate to have them deal with it...and sometimes with that comes the death of an icon. Good thing JEEP still offers the platform in a two and four-door configuration, but the complexity of the electronics are here to stay. Good thing there are still Flatties, CJs, TJs, and YJs out there to mod and that the aftermarket still cares about them. The options for purist are still out there👍🇺🇸

That's why I keep holding on to my TJ bought it new and outfitted the way I wanted. I get the ",I wanna buy a new Jeep itch " when the new models come out but I would be spending $60,000 + to replicate mine and I would have all the new "technology's" to fail on the trail. Jeep is pandering to the masses with there Jeeps in my opinion.

Hi Robert. The 3.6L is using the same system that we’ve been using since 2014 in the Jeep grand Cherokee and Cherokee. The 48 V system. Also known as the mild hybrid Will be on the 2.0 L gas on the new wrangler and also on the 2019 ram 1500. No problem man. Some people get used to it and it doesn’t bother them because they are saving fuel. Others don’t. Just curious did you know it had it before you bought it? Most salesmen and not disclosing that it has stop start because it kinda has a bad wrap. And they might lose the sale.

Not once did they mention it to me. I started to panic to be honest until I realized the auto stop/start display.
