How To Disable The Reverse Beep In a 2008 Prius

INSTRUCTIONS: While the car is in either "IG-ON" or "Ready" mode, push the trip/odometer button until the dashboard displays "ODO" rather than "Trip A" or "Trip B."
Turn off the car.
Make sure nobody is in the passenger seat and there is nothing heavy sitting on the seat.
With you sitting in the driver seat, leave your seatbelt off and the driver door open.
Memorize the rest of these instructions since you won't have time to read while you're doing these steps quickly:
Keep your foot on the brake the entire time.
Turn the car back on. Wait for the "Ready" light to illuminate. Within 6 seconds, push and hold the trip/odometer button for at least 10 seconds. (I could to 11.)
Continue depressing the trip/odometer button while you shift from "park" to "reverse" and then immediately press "Park" and release the trip/odometer button.
Confirm that the trip/odometer displays "b on." Immediately press the trip/odometer button, and it should say "b off." The display "b on" means "beep on," and the display "b off" means "beep off." You can toggle between those settings now by pressing the trip/odometer button.
Press the power button to turn off the car.
The next time you turn on the car and switch into reverse, there will be no beep!
Note: If the Prius's 12-volt battery becomes disconnected at any time after you disabled the reverse beep, the car will reset its defaults, and the reverse beep will return. Repeat the procedure above to disable it again.

I love you. Got it on my 5th try. At first, I think I wasn't holding the "ODO TRIP" button through the whole process. I was able to complete it with the door closed and seatbelt unbuckled. Fantastic.

I just picked up a 2019 corolla Sx. I live in OZ. Anyway, I have reverse parking sensors so the continual sound of the reverse camera is totally counter productive. I am wondering if this hack works. Otherwise I am going to have to take it to the dealership to get them to sort it out. Cheers.

I couldn't get this work until I found your video, but I did exactly what you said and got this on the second try (I don't think I waited long enough for the ready light the first time). I think the door open and seat belt off are key, because I don't have a smart key so I had to put it in the ignition to start the car. Anyway, you're awesome I really appreciate you putting this up.

Tear out the entire dash and reinstall takes about an hour. Remove the buzzer with plyers. Its right by the speedometer under the dash. Super easy job. So worth it. I love my quite pruis. No buzzing or beeping.
