Agreed, its annoying and distracting. No other car does this, why Toyota felt it was needed in the prius is beyond me.

Press the break really hard, it will beep. And will not creep forward until you had. You will have to do that each stop however

No, but you can do that using Techstream. I have done that for both my 2010s following some posts on Priuschat.

I do preview while editing and before posting. The decibel levels on the editing software disagree with the twice as loud claim, but I can look into making it quieter than the rest of the video.

@@nickloughner7512 Short version-- it was SAMRT of toyota to add that loud sound, and I LIKE my Prius doing that!

@@paulsheridan424 a majority of America disagrees with you. They should at least make it an easy option to turn off.

I would understand if the beeps were to notify people nearby, but they’re not loud enough for that. I already know I’m in reverse. I put the car in reverse. I don’t need a beep to le me know that, and that beep doesn’t help me see what’s behind me.

@@SweetPablo972 Considering how easy it is to slip into/knock into the shift lever, and how ubiquitous this feature is becoming on EV and CVT autos, we can expect more Reverse Beeps. And I personally seldom rely on SOUND to help me see what is behind me (or in front of me for that matter!) Usually, if I am hearing something when reversing, that means I am HITTING something, which is NOT what what I (or my insurance company) want me to do. Keep the beep, people-- it could save your "butt" end and maybe someone's life! Oh, @nickloughner7512, what the "majority" of Americans want is almost never the smart thing, simply the easy thing, or the selfish thing, IMHO.

Hello! The Dr. Prius app should provide results in terms of remaining capacity. Anything below 50% capacity would be concerning for a 2012 depending on mileage.

Unfortunately I do not have access to a prius prime...yet ;)

@@HEVTech1 I took my car to the dealership on Friday and asked them to disable the setting and they told me they can’t due to liability reason. That’s some BS. Any recommendations on who does this work. They say they can’t do that means they could. I also want to disable that auto shut off feature so my car does not turn off after idling for one hour. I like to take long naps waiting for my kids to get out of school or during long trips pull over and reset for a few hours and the car shuts off after 1hour.

Yes you will need an OBD II reader to use the Dr. Prius app. I would look up "OBD Link" it the one used for the thumbnail as it is the one I have tested and works well for me.

The "Dr. Prius" app is linked in the description along with the OBDII reader I used to communicate with the car.
