Today, we're going to take a look inside the newly released Spyderco Knives Drunken, for some disassembly and maintenance. Then, stick around for some first impressions of the knife.

I'm so glad this is on washers. I haven't been impressed with the action of anything Spyderco has ever put on bearings, but they've always been good at washers

A very ZT looking effort from Spyderco here. The backspacer looks lifted from the ill fated ZT0777 as well as the tri point pivot from so many others (Microtech) Add the orbital price and I'm left with a no. Enjoying my Neutron thanks to you man!

Love how it has that thumb cutout contour for pushing the lock away. I want the zt 0452cf so bad but it doesn’t have any lower spot or cutout at all so the frame lock is completely level with the opposite side of the handle and I find it not super simple to push with thumb. Sorta gotta dig in between to get at it. And I never hear anyone mention that so I must be the only one who has that issue.
@davidmarshall77525 жыл бұрын
I can't believe Spyderco threw a one-screw, unrecessed, badly designed budget clip on a $400 high-ender. What were they thinking?
@bahjinelson39865 жыл бұрын
The threadlocker might be something like Vibra-Tite, which is what I use. It is rated for re-use and is easy to use. It stays gummy instead of hardening during curing, allowing future adjusting, but it is not as strong as Loctite but the strength I think is fine for the application. Otherwise, screws that small need liquid Loctite in order to remain in the threads. The gel and stick Loctites are too thick and get pushed out of the threads when assembled.
@Dont_Poke_The_Bear5 жыл бұрын
I really like most things Sinkevich, but that is a big price tag that puts it in contention with tough competition. Taking s90v that thin is questionable from my experience. If they did it s35vn, and did made smarter material/pocket slip choices and knocked that price down it would have been a homerun! Look what ZT has done with his designs and the price they sell them for.... Please Spyderco, do a lower priced version in something like s30v/s35vn and g10 and call it the delirium.

@@jakefromstatefarm1405 I think so. Into around my fourth year of this crazy knife hobby, I finally had to see what the fuss was about with crk. Bought a mint condition 2015 large sebenza 21 with unique graphics and tiger's eye inlay. When I disassembled it and put it back together, I got it. It's a precision instrument. Went and bought a new umnumzaan. Love it. Want to complete the trifecta with a large inkosi. Still can't decide on insingo or tanto blade.

Just ordered 2 Spydi UKPK S30V G10 full length back bar Clipit with red G10 scales, Heinnie Haynes (UK stockists). I 've got/had several BD1 s and got 2 CPM 110vs with blue FRN scales currently. Got a S30V UKPK with titanium scales with phosphorus washers slightly thicker blade with full length tension back bar Clipit design from about 10 years back. Funny thing is about 1 or 2 months ago I sent them an email stating how I love the UKPK but could they improve the UK legal slip joint. It's like they've listened. To be honest I know why they've not improved the UKPK, it's almost perfect going off what choices us down trodden G B citizens have on offer. That's why they find it hard to improve the design but they seem to be upgrading materials. Used several as a work knife with just sharprning as maintenance for years all still good no play, slightly scared FRN scales and modded bevel. Got a RAT 2 recently as an engineer can use locking blades at work, a lot slower deployment and to me an unnatural hand position in comparison. Already sliced my thumb. UKPK s are cool, ultra lightweight, excellent ergos , fast deployment, deep wire clip type, sturdy blades. ATB from Mcr. UK. Thanks Nick. Plz. Do a quick review on one I dare you. If you have dealing with Spdrco they'll probably just chuck you one as this line is relatively cheep CPM110v £115.00 currently, S30V £80.00, BD1 £67.00. Thanks for all your vids, you seem like a top bloke. ATB ...

Bearings are only better than washers when the bearings are multi row or ikbs with over a dozen bearings. The cheap bearings that most brands use that have like 6 balls on them are junk, with any heavy use they start to loosen up, just too much force distributed over a very small area, point loads are enough to deform the steel backing washers or liners they contact.

Super disappointed that it isn't on bearings. I know its not a huge deal, but when Eric described the knife on the KnifeCenter video he said it came with ball bearings. Then when you spend so much on a knife and find out that it's not what was promised. Not good. I wanted that drop shuttiness like the Subvert. It's still in the post, so hopefully everything else surpasses my expectations.
@MPerry-ox9qb5 жыл бұрын
Youd have to be drunk to buy this knife at that price. Especially being made in Taiwan. The milling on the full ti and cf S90V Native 5's are better imho. They're made in the US and didn't cost $400. Neither did the fluted ti military. I've had this one in hand and it should be competitively priced with Zero Tolerance. Spyderco prices are getting out of hand.
