Very helpful..... The walk through of your line on the hill makes it super easy to see what to do and where to do it. Love the videos!

Best snowmobiling videos on YT for sure! What kind of gear ratios are you running? Would be really cool to see a breakdown of your preferred sled setups for your riding styles. Keep it up gents, lots of winter left!

This channel is epic, keep it up brother! I’m up here in Alaska and fairly new to sport, two years in… I just picked up 2022 Alpha 165. Is the 165” track harder to do these on?

Thanks for the advice caleb! I'm going to try to nail my first bowtie tomorrow. 2 feet of freshies to be had on the MT/ID border! Also wondering, do you find it easier with a cut tunnel, shorter track? I'm having a bit of difficulty with my 19 gen 4 summit 165. Thinking besides my lack of skills in this department, the wider rails and longer track inhibits agility to an extent.
@CalebKesterke
@CalebKesterke 3 жыл бұрын
A cut tunnel does make bowties easier because there's nothing holding the sled from pivoting. All it takes is a little steeper hill and a little more commitment to get a bowtie on a longer track/tunnel

Whats the main goal of doing a bowtie? Esthetics or there is a practical purpose? I’m new to backcountry sledding so forgive my ignorance.

Are these maneuvers mostly reserved for full mountain sleds ? I live in southern Ontario which is mainly trail riding. I bought a Switchback Assault thinking I could get the best of both worlds. Can I be riding in the steeper stuff using these techniques on a my 144" track Assault ? Your vids are awesome, thanks !!

It might be slightly harder but yes you can! You just need a good spot to practice!

I'm practicing on 10 to 12ft snow drifts out in the prairies, straight up straight down. I'm beginning to realize that might be much harder then on a mountain side, rolled many times and fell off dozens more😩😅
@leftyeh6495
@leftyeh6495 3 жыл бұрын
Wind packed drifts aren't the same as loose mountain powder. The loose snow is much easier to maneuver in. Once it gets hard packed or a crusty ice layer it's hard to turn tight without lots of throttle and attitude to get the track to dig in.

Caleb, do you have any thoughts on worrying about nailing your thigh with the handle bars on the way down? even with my steering post forward on my skidoo it worries me. Lol
