Here is a quick tutorial on how to do a dive bomb harmonic on a guitar with a locking trem.

I own a Demon 6 in flametop black cherry finish. Man is it gorgeous and it sounds KILLER. Perfect example of a really well-crafted production axe for not a ridiculous amount of money. I play bass, too, and I need to add a five string, so I'll be buying a Custom 5 I've been A/B'ing against popular models from other companies.

yes that's the original dive bomb because you make the dive whistle sound of an airplane bomb and THEN you make the bomb explosion sound, but nowadays people call divebomb even only the whistle sound

Thanks for the quick lesson! Haven't had a Floyd Rose on a guitar in 30 years. I picked up a Dean Dimebag Razorback with the Lone Star graphics a couple of weeks ago. Spent some time tonight doing some nice Texas pig squeals lol. I am a Gunsmith in Texas so I had to get that guitar. I have a hard tail Schecter that the wife won that's signed by Motley Crue on their last tour so I can't play it or I will end up rubbing off the autographs lol. It came with a custom final tour band signed drum head too. Should be worth some money down the road. It's a high end Schecter too but I can't touch the damn guitar lol. Right now I am learning some Pantera songs and your dive bomb lesson helped me out a lot. Watched a couple of other videos but they sucked ass and didn't explain it well enough. Pretty funny seeing that there isn't much to doing them. Thanks again!

the strings normally go back to shape when he lets go but if he kept doing it a lot then yes the strings would end up out of tune

The dive bomb lesson’s always better when the vocabulary terms are so less technical with more demonstration. “flick the note with your left hand” “grab the bar and dump it” “hit the harmonic wherever it occurs”

You probably didn't tighten the nut enough, or you have a Floating Floyd Rose. But most likely you just may need to tighten the nut more

It's easy because you have active pickups. My guitar doesn't have EMG or Duncans so my harmonics don't sound high like that.

wait, if you listen the end of the "Cemetary Gates" of pantera you can hear dive bombs for a lot of time!, seriously 5 o 6 seconds, how can I have that durability ? which effect? if I put delay I can hear repetitions, is not the dime effect, if I put sustain/compression NOISE AS HELL, no dime effect, ¿?

no dude you gotta understand dime first. research his guitar tech grady something i forget idk google it youll find it. figure out a way to foam fill the spring and control box cavities with foam remember a dean ml is a heavy solid les paul like guitar the floyd routing is rather shallow too so that with the neck thru design and solid state amps (untill he was with damageplan) he had sustain for days. keep at it man!!

3E WINNING 3E I know you asked a long time ago, but...here goes. Dime had two equalizers between guitar and amp, crazy boost, and noisy, watch him in the music store seminar on youtube, lot's of noise, but that enabled Cemetary Gates harmonics. Dime had a noise gate to kill the noise, but that will cut the harmonics short as well. Dime's tech Grady Champion would momentarily turn off the noise gate while Dime did harmonics. Dime and Grady were a team, Dime acknowledged this and said he paid Grady well because he was such a great tech. Dime said something like "When you find a great tech, pay him well." You can find this out there on the web to varify, Dime was very forthcoming with this info on more than one occasion.
