Most tutorials are made to look good on camera, which is why so many people are left confused when they follow tutorials and are left looking completely different to the person on the screen🙊
The reasonsor this is that makeup that looks good IRL, looks very washed out and disappears on camera. The way makeup reads on camera is so dependet on lighting and quality, it is completely different to real life. Things that read better on camera perform far more well on social media as they’re visually appealing and aestheticallyl pleasing😊 This is why we’ve seen a huge abandonment of traditional, logical and theory based makeup, and a boom in fun and bold techniques that may look good on camera, but lack realism and dimension in real life.
You guys were so interested when I explained how different camera and in person makeup are, so here’s a tutorial for how to do you makeup for real life in person interactions. This is perfect for events, parties, and even everyday💖

i love makeup that focuses on features rather than on the face as a whole. i feel like the beauty industry focused on creating a whole brand new face for a while, and that kind of glam doesn’t really suit me. people have different features and sometimes that kind of makeup doesn’t look as good as it does on someone else. this tutorial is so nice to have

Totally agree. hopefully you get the chance to read this. I remember being so, so insecure about my facial features back in the FULL glam “Anastasia makeup Era” . I have giant, round eyes which absolutely was NOT cool/acceptable back then. People in school always belittled me for how young and childish I looked and looked down upon me.. For years I did ANYTHING and everything I could to hide them. I spent nearly all my money getting thick, full glam/volume lash extensions, eyeliners, dark eyeshadow etc. I would even force myself to keep my eyes low and only keep them a little more than 1/2way open. It looked so bad and overwhelmed my face. You couldn’t even see my eye color at all yet people treated me kinder this way..During lockdown i was forced to face my ‘naked’ eyes; I cried for a long time but eventually got used to them and decided to save my $. Nowadays, within the last 1-1.5yrs or so, l am complimented so often on my eyes and people said they wish they had them. I was completely shocked to even see the copious amounts of tutorials on how to make your eyes look bigger and more doe-like. Fortunately i love my eyes now, but this just further proves the toxicity of the beauty industry and the unfortunate reality of the people who feed into it. “trends” in the beauty in industry never lost for long. Hell, some only last a couple months. But the self-hatred that comes from implementing these cruel standards can last a LIFETIME. which is why it’s so important to have these conversations. The part about focusing most of the mascara product at the roots instead of the lashes -- suddenly everything clicked. As long as I've been doing makeup, I've never liked how mascara looks on me and I could never explain why, nor did I ever understand why so many influencers include mascara in their natural makeup must-haves. Your channel is a godsend, I really hope you continue making technique-based videos.

I use aquafor ointment on my lips too. I also use it when my cuticles are dry to seal in hand cream and cuticle oil. Slugging for cuticles!

Absolutely gorgeous 🥰 what shade did you end up putting on your 👄 I saw you do the lip liner concealer, clear gloss and then you modeled full look but your lips look like they have more color. Peripera, too cool for school have some for lighter shades since they’re Korean, i haven’t seen many for darker shades and for powders an eyeshadow works fine too! Fenty creams work for darker shades but I don’t think they do powders :(

@@miasmanic4396 hm, you could try it out and perhaps also some green to reduce red tones too. But it depends on the bronzer and could potentially turn too grey so I would experiment with it :)

That elf concealer looked soooo bad on me, made my under eye look so dry. I recommend for camera but not to wear in person. Save your money and splurge on a good concealer that doesn’t crease like crazy.
