In this video, I show you my process for periodic maintenance of the Gaggia Classic Pro espresso machine. I've owned the machine for 3 years, and it continues to provide excellent espresso shots or lattes for us every morning.

Friend, that's not a water intake tube. That's my modified solenoid valve ejection port made of silicon tubing :)

Very thorough instructional video ! I also learned that you are a bicyclist. First clue was calling the group head a group set. Second clue was a park tool hex wrench. 😂

Gaggia does not recommend Backflushing.if It is done the wrong way it might destroy the pump

I honestly have never heard of anyone doing backflushing on a vibration pump espresso machine and destroyed the pump, provided the 3 way solenoid valve is working properly (back flushing removes grease to prevent valve blockage) Many espresso machines will even come with backflushing plate to encourage regular cleaning to maintain optimal brewing performance.
