It is similar, but not the same. I just added a good video on the Heineken jibe to my advanced jibes playlist for comparison. The flight path of the wing is quite different. This is easier and can be done at any speed. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/abF0gZeazrfJpaM.html

You could say that. But the flight path the wing takes is pretty different. Here it just rotates on your shoulder, in the Heineken it spirals around your head in a big arc. At least that's the Heineken I know and love. Both are pretty great!🙂

I suppose that if one was going faster than the wind through the turn, the jibe would look a lot like this one: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p65ng6tq0NrPfI0.html ? I've been wondering why lift the wing on the upwind shoulder at the start of the turn but at least here on foil it looks easier. Nice explanation, will have to try this out at some point. 👍
