Thank you for this video and the rest of your x carve tutorials. I used the tiling feature for the first time and had a pretty good experience. drawing the line and using a straight edge through out the 3 cuts really made the difference.

For the text alignment discussion at around 27:30 you could select one letter, then shift+click on each of the others and hit the vertical align button. Then put them at your 2.68 This saves a bit of time

Greetings from Malta (Europe). 🎄 Many thanks for your excellent tutorials. Regarding the straight edge positioning when setting up a tiling job, could you 'tape and super glue' a piece of say 6mm ply and have the machine itself cut/trim it along the y-axis? Wouldn't that ensure perfect y-axis alignment? Thanks again for taking the time to share your superb videos. Meanwhile, I'll be waiting for my new Vasto.

Thanks for the video.I have watched your method a few time but I always end up with a line through the middle of the project from top to bottom.The line is too deep to sand out.I have tried resurfacing the spoil board etc etc and still it is not working out.I have the 3018 Pro and the Mandrill.

Just curious why not set the overlap past the C? Also I found using PwN CNC z axis bit jig to help with not having to rezero the z axis every time in a bit swap.

Using the tiling feature in Easel Pro currently does not give the option to move the overlap. That is a request that I have made to Inventables. I'll check out the z axis bit jig. That sounds very interesting.

How do you know where to place your tiles? I have an 18” tile and a 19” tile, how do I know where to start my second tile?

The location of the material must match the same exact location on the computer

First, are you using the tiling app in easel? It tells you where to place the project. You also have an overlap feature. If you are not using this feature then the zero point of each tile must match the computer to the project. Hope this make sense

So I’m curious how you ensure the machine doesn’t move when changing bits? Mine goes all over, so if I were to go to last X,Y zero, it’s likely going to be off?

First make sure your stepper motors are locked. The GRBL $1=255. If you home the machine you can use the use last x,y position if my chance it does move a little.

What about when you want to carve pocket text using the tile feature? I was getting lines through/across each tile. Everything lined up just carved through the text like a border around each tile
