How to Download and Install Mods Minecraft | 2024 (Full Guide)

Before we begin, please keep in mind:
- Your PC is up-to date
- Your drivers are up-to-date
- Research if your PC can handle mods
- This tutorial is a step-by-step process. Nothing is left out. Don't skip steps
- This tutorial is for Windows 10 PCs + Java edition Minecraft. You cannot mod bedrock edition
- This tutorial is not for cracked accounts
- If you are making a custom modpack, add mods SLOWLY to your mods folder. This is so you know what mods are incompatible with one another.

I did everything, play read the description but whenever I try to open Minecraft with forge it just crashes and gives me the Minecraft exit code 1, is there anything I can do to fix this?

i did every step right, the mod files are in the mods folder and it even shows it in minecraft but before i go in the game, the little forge tab is saying that it might not support the latest player safety features, therefore i cant see the mods in my world, any advice?

I suggest researching if the mod is sus. Tbh I click the “play anyway” or whatever button lol

Hi! Thank you for making this video it actually helped me so much but i have one question: In my mods folder (after i searched up the %appdata%) there were already some mods in there. However those mods were for a different model of Minecraft (1.12.1) and the one im downloading is for (1.20.1). Is that normal? Should i create a new mods folder?

Hmm lemme ask a stupid question: have you modded your mc in the past? That’s what it sounds like to me. Whenever you mod mc and wanna play different versions, you’ll have to remove the mod packs. For example 1/?

I have a fairycore series (1.20.1) I have ACJ (1.16.5) In order to play either of my mod packs, I have to make sure the mods are separated by version. You can do this by learning how to use the curseforge app OR by swapping what is in your folder 2/?

In this example I will say 1.16.5 and 1.20.1 are the modded versions we have! And to that you would have to make a 2 folders on your desktop (name it whatever you want tbh) And drag your 1.16.5 in the first folder The 1.20.1 into the other folder Now that they have been separated, feel free to open the folder and drag them into the mods folder whenever you wanna play that version When you wanna change versions, remove them from the mods folder and put it back into the folder on your desktop, then drag and drop the mods from the other folder into your mods folder 3/?

I hope this makes sense. I’m not too well versed in the curseforge app, but I use it for ACJ and my fairycore series so I don’t have the hassle of moving mod packs in and out of my mods folder ❤️ 4/4

when i download a mod, why does it make it a winrar file instead of a .jar file?

to fix this you can right-click the file, select "open with" and click java

Am having a problem of were my mods wont load correctly and most mods I download go into a zip and not a jar file how can I fix that?

Did you watch the whole thing? Do you have error codes? Did you read description notes?

@@WhimsyNymph i did watch the whole thing and i read in the description, there werent any error codes but when i clicked on the mods button, no mods appeared so im guessing that it didnt load in properly but i dont know how to fix it.

for a custom pack- drag and drop multiple mods into mods folder modpacks, probably unzip with winrar then drop into mods folder as normal
