Learn how to download trees from FamilySearch and Ancestry into family tree maker. Also learn how to upload your downloaded tree from FamilySearch into ancestry. I need to learn how to sync my family search Ancestry. I also need to figure out how to access my Ancestry because it keeps trying to sell me a subscription...it's just confusing to me. And we still need to do the indexing. I'm free til Friday when Hank and I are going to the temple!

I've been trying to find out what the problem is that doesn't allow us to sync Family Tree Maker and Ancestry. All I've been told is that they are working on it??

I haven’t had any problems with it syncing to ancestry. I know there’s been a few glitches with the weather syncing but that’s it. We’re up able to get out figured out?

Curious as to why using this is more beneficiary than family search and ancestry?

That’s a loaded question that I can’t simply answer In one sentence here. It is your tree that you own that syncs with your trees in family search and ancestry. There’s a lot more to it that I can explain to you on the phone or you can watch the video I put out about it that explains it in more depth.

I'm still running FTM 2012.... Wondering if it's time for an update.

It would be worth it. They have sales pretty often. If you sign up for their news letter you’ll be notified when they are having a sale. They usually hold their sales for 3 days so they are easy to miss.

@@JoyousGenealogist There running an upgrade offer now but it looks like FTM 2019 is the latest? I did subscribe to the newsletter as suggested. Thanks for the info!!

Yeah, 2019 is the latest but they do upgrades to that version all the time so it is up to date even though it sounds like it’s 5 years old.

@@JoyousGenealogist Thanks for this great info. I'll be swapping out computers within the year. I'll pick up a 2019 version in the meantime (I like having discs... I'm old) and have it on hand so the transfer of my FTM files should go smoothly. Thanks again!!!
