Keeping your goal in mind helps get you through the tedious steps. Good point about giving away the sentimental/valuable items to the people you intend to have it --so often there are disputes among family over specific items after a death. Setting small segments of time to getting tasks done can help you to feel that you've accomplished small goals towards the final result. Thanks Barbara!

Really great, practical steps to downsizing! I like that you offer *realistic numbers*. The free CMAs offered by many Realtors is way too general.

So true Mary. Or how about a Zestimate?? I tell clients Zillow will be accurate when Zillow comes out to your house!!
