How to draw a continuous Celtic Triskele knot pattern. This pattern is unique to the Rosie Priory Stone Cross, a Pictish artifact from the 7th century. This triskele is a complex variant of the trillium style knot found on Pictish stones in the 6th century. The simple trillium triskele is shown in part 1 d • How to draw Celtic Kno... . Jason Bellchamber shows the steps involved in constructing this triskele. A paper, pen, pencil, eraser and ruler are required. Just wanted to take the time to say thank you for your excellent videos and instructions. I am a new subscriber and have begun at your oldest video and I am working my way through all your videos. I am creating an instruction notebook showing your step by step technique for each knot for my own reference. I’ve been doing a couple of videos a day and I am enjoying drawing daily for the pure joy of it. You make it so easy to follow.Thank you Jason

Excellent! The corners are where you can introduce a open circle where the knot changes direction 90 degrees and you could add a letter or symbol.

Thanks for all your videos. On one video you talked about bleeding and nonbleeding ink. Could you tell us more on that, and also something about paper. I am a beginner and your videos really help. Thank you.

The cheaper ink pens will bleed through the paper and stain the surface below. An ink pen that is 0.5mm and costs a couple of $ would be best.

I was under the impression that the Celts did a lot of weaving and that these patterns were used to preserve the different weaves they used in their weave work. Any truth to that?

It's true that some Irish family's would stich certain patterns onto fishermans sweaters. I don't know when that started though.

Why the long ovals.
@TheCelticGoldsmith
@TheCelticGoldsmith 3 жыл бұрын
The ovals are to accommodate the direction of interlace so it may be a continuous in its own triangle and then connect to the other triangles. If all of the triangles were triquetras they would not connect. With a few tweaks in direction they are made to connect with the other triangles. This video may help to visualize it. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jM-XnMaevLrdkqc.html

You obviously don't know much about Celtic history. For one Celtic knotwork was around long before the Saxons went to Britain. It was Welsh speaking tribes who started the knotwork in Britain. They brought the art with them when they traveled across europe.

north german plain is not the north. in fact germany and germanic true genetics are on the other side of scandinavia hence german. I'm native gaidheal from central òich, pretty knowledgeable on saxons. infact the true people who lived in the south of the island are brigantii gymru,the welsh. "oh by the way i hope I'm not coming off as an ass to you ,sorry if i am." is very interesting yes. you do blacksmithing? :) so do i and carpentry.
