Yeah, you get faster as you get used to it. And I find the accuracy worth the effort.

Incredibly helpful video. My shading is actually ok but it was always the outlines I struggled to proportion correctly, so I ended up with a realistic looking drawing that looked nothing like the person 😂 thank you brother.

This will sound bad but I am too lazy to do all that so I'll keep free hand drawing. Funny I am always able to capture anime and cartoon faces perfectly but real faces have me researching like crazy. This is an amazing toturial u truly have patience.

It's only normal, every thing needs to be just right for a real face to actually look like a real face. With anime cartoon drawings, it'll be hard to look wrong if the proportion is off by a little

For years I've done freehand and tracing. Luckily my free hand proportions have always been very close to accurate and if I needed help I'd grab a ruler or use my pencil as a ruler. I never wanted to use grid I hate to sound arrogant but I thought I was" too good " for it but as I got older I'm alot more humble and actually want to try grid method lol !! Another reason I hadn't is because of laziness to drawing the lines but I just finished a drawing yesterday and my next drawing will be with grid I already have it planned out. When we are younger we think we know it all lol 🙄 grid make more sense now mentally. Love this video 🤍

Gee, yees, I also felt the same way, stuck to freehand for years because I felt grid was "cheating". And I wasn't really that good with the freehand lol. Grid saves me a lot time now and it's why I recommend it to anyone willing to try

I know right. I used the hard stuff, 'freehand', for years. Felt like I was commiting a crime when I used grid because of how easy it is. But I hope you try it out, would save you time.

I just count them on the screen, but yeah it's very easy to get confused. Some other apps allow you add numbers from the app themselves. But with this app, I just count them out myself, I've gotten used it already so 😊😊

Draw light lines For the most part you may not have to erase guidelines. You can shade over it if the lines are very light

Regardless of your paper size,just measure the horizontal and vertical of it then divide each of those by the same numbers used on the phone pic...

It depends on how big. You'll have to measure what will fit the size. It might be 1 cm or 2cm?

Shading is the meat of the project. Start light, then work your way to the darker pencils. Progress doesn't come overnight, keep working at it

Same ! Whenever l try to shade , the pigment comes out “ muddy “. I’m good at Line Art / outlines and lay-ins but when l start to shade it just ruins my vibe ! Very frustrating! Guess l have to keep practicing!
