Learn how to draw Tattoo Waves With this simple and easy to follow tutorial. Done on paper with pen and markers making it super easy to follow along. Enjoy!
I've got about 14 years experience tattooing and tattoo many different tattoo designs in different styles from Old School Traditional, Neo Traditional, Japanese, New School and Realistic. Drawing a tattoo design in a different style requires very different approaches but lucky enough i break these down into easy to follow guides showing you how to draw old school, how to draw neo traditional/Japanese etc is very simple steps and understanding how you did it and what makes them look that way.

.5 speed is your friend. I put him at half speed when I’m drawing along, he doesn’t just talk fast, he also draws really fast!

@@thebrokenpuppet Ive been struggling to draw the waves for the Waves off Kanagawa by Hokusai. Surely this would help! I cant draw tattoos on people because of my religion but i can draw them on paper. Thanks for all the tutorial. It really helps!

no prob markers are winsor and newton grey shades CG1-4 and the paper is bristol board

Lovely work! Would you ever create this sort of effect just with pen/ink/ fineliners? I suppose hatching or stippling just takes so much longer and these markers get smooth gradient in a lot quick time frame 🤔

Heya I don’t know if you’ve found the answer to your question yet so I thought I would try and help. They are alcohol brush markers, specifically the Windsor and Newton brand but there are many other brands out there. They blend beautifully without typically ripping your paper up but they will soak through the majority of them so divider pieces are recommended. Hope this helps
