3 жыл бұрынThis is a very similar setup to what Graham Jarvis, Alfredo Gomez, Johnny Walker, and other top Extreme Enduro Pilots use for Romaniacs, Erzberg, Sea To Sky, etc. To maximize traction for gnarly trails, hillclimbs, rocks and creeks, a drilled Mousse Bib paired with a gummy tire is the way to go!

I purchased one of these drill bits from you guys. The thing is super legit! It's SO much easier to drill the mousses out. I think the video took longer to watch than it took to drill all the holes. Hardly any mess to clean up too!

Nitro mousse makes soft compound mousses for low psi feel. Give them a try!

I’m running the softest nitromousse and after 25hr I’m here watching this video considering drilling it 😂 also the 140 nitro won’t hold a Michelin extreme on the rim as they seem to run really big. Good mousse though last well for sure 👍

What are your thoughts in running a 120 mousse in a 140-80-18 rear?

Michelin M18 can work pretty sweet with a 140 (2 rim-locks for sure) as it will get squishy quick) we just did 4 hard days on 7 bikes with that set up and it was sweet. Drill out a M14 for the longest service with a perfect hard enduro competition mousse once it is supremely broken in, enjoy 🔥✊🏼

Can you run the 140 tire on a stock 2.15 Rim or are you using a larger rim?

How much does this shorten the life of the bib? Or does it? Have you ever actually put the cores back in after its clapped out?

You can chuck the cores back in. We get heaps of hours out of our bibs but we keep the speed to a minimum. With fast riding bibs tend to expand which we have found greatly reduces their life.

does this work for front mousses as well? I'm using a 10-12 psi equivalent nitro mousse inside a mitas single green stripe tyre. And it's too hard!!

We have never had the need to drill a front mousse. After setting up hundreds of tires your question is an EZ one. The nitro m is the problem, use a Michelin M15 and you will be sweet! If you want a soft extreme enduro ride use a Michelin Enduro Medium 90/100 with the M15 and you will be loving life 👌🏼

Saw a vid with Johnny stating they use to drill but dont anymore !!!!!!!!! seems my last comment was deleted only asked how long with these actually last, as they seem to be half gone !! Also, how soft after a few rides do they become, as mousse breaks down !!???

Lots of options out there ( we’re lucky) there are some companies making ready to go extreme mousses like mefo and mitas In Europe. However if you can even get a mefo in the US you are looking at around $200+ for 1 mousse (Michelin is 1/2 half the price so having a slick drill makes customization sweet) When In Europe we can get these other mousses for less than 1/2 the price in the US so we will use them as well..... 🔥✊🏼

Look at Rise Mousse, Climber. It has removable inserts and is about 5-8 psi in feel once warm when new. You can put the inserts back when the mousse wears and is getting to soft feeling.

Front mousses are not drilled. Their function is different from the rear tire. You drill the rear mousse to reduce the PSI to increase traction, which does not apply to the front tire/mousse.

I'm sorry to tell you guys. Drilling holes is out of date. There is now perfect mousse for Hard Enduro! Simply out of the box. Michelin Enduro Xtrem (Super Soft) 140/80 18 For the Mousse Metzeler Mousse 140/80 18 Medium - wie 0,5 - 0,7 Bar Luftdruck (Umfang 30,5 cm) Soft - wie 0,3 - 0,4 Bar Luftdruck (Umfang 29 cm) Super Soft - wie 0,2 - 0,3 Bar Luftdruck (Umfang 30,5 cm - sehr fluffig)

Wonder if any mad lads have taken a Mousse and halved from the inside ( only cutting half way up leaving a good 1" of space ) and inserted a thinner tube ?

Comprei o mousse e estava querendo trocar pela câmera de ar. Pq não estava conseguindo pilotar em terreno escorregadio, o pneu não estava tracionando. A melhor opção então seria furar o mousse?
