2:03 Own a 21 Sherco myself and spent hours changing jets, riding and changing again 😏 That Sherco jet chart is absolute rubbish. If followed, they'll foul plugs and blubber their way around the forest. Going 2 steps leaner on EVERYTHING based on the chart is a good place to start from and tune from there 👍 I'm only between 300 and 750m elevation and warm temps, but to get it running clean and crisp it's on 38P, 168M and the N8RG needle at clip one. At that, it's happy.

What do I have to change/adjust to run it 2 steps leaner?
@Danger_mouse
@Danger_mouse 3 жыл бұрын
@@Drew79 It would depend on what is fitted to your bike now, but if you look at the Sherco chart for your own temps and altitude, it will give you their rich settings. Going a couple of sizes down on wht is recommended is a place to start - However, you need to have a little mechanical knowledge to watch for any signs of lean running and also check your spark plug colour to be sure that you are close. You can then work on one part of the delivery at a time with the pilot jet, needle and main sizes.

@@Danger_mouseThank you for your response. I just picked up 21 sherco se 300. I’ve also heard to run it 2 steps down from what Manuel says, I just don’t know a ton about carbs. I can work on just about anything else on these bikes.

@@Drew79 As an example, I'm riding mostly at 350-750m in 15-30°C temps and I'm running a 38P jet, 170M and the N8RG needle on clip 2. Working well for me, but nothing like the book says.

Hey mate, I enjoy your videos, thank you I have a 2022 Sherco. I think the float needs adjusting, it's stalling when I go down really steep decents. The other day I did 50km and used about 9lts of fuel, it must be leaking out. What float position should be used and do you think this is my problem?

I'm sure you've done it by now, but others reading this comment, dive in and try doing it yourself. You'll find it isn't that bad and after a bit you get a system down for it. I'd ride on the Oregon Coast on the dunes, and it took some experimenting, where you'd get your jetting for the track, then where you're more wide open on dunes and such, stop and look at the plug. Typically in the manual it will show you some old ass picture of the plug and what it should and should not look like. It really isn't that bad, and remember, maintenance ends up somewhere else. You get a 4 stroke, you're changing oil constantly, if you ride a 2 stroke in the same areas mostly, you rarely have to monkey with them. I'm not trying to sound condescending whatsoever, and like this guy in his video talks about, take your time, don't over torque stuff it will strip super fast, you'll get the hang of it, I promise.

@UTTP-Up Teh Pipe Productions KTM have gone massively downhill since the TPI, mine started running weird last weekend and now won't start at all. just saw a video from a guy with a 2022 tpi who said it ran crap from the moment he bought it. he'd put 30 hours on it and gone through 6 CC pressure sensors already as well as having other issues. said its run properly and problem free for about 5 of those 30 hours. and had clutch issues right off the bat. like alot of other ktm customers the dealer refused to held and gave the old "its a characteristic of the bike" excuse

Are you selling Shercos as well as renting them out? The other thing that helps is running Motul 510 or 710 for general trail riding rather than the racing oil 800 which has a high flash point

if anyone watching with old type of engine (powervalve motor under tank with cables), that can run much richer without fouling plugs, i like mine 2018 rich on pilot jet... 60:1 motul 800 for gncc type of racing, motul 710 for trail riding.
