If anyone in the future says let's stop and go backwards and destroy our planet with wasteful oil, gas, and parts; i would see them as a lower form that had very little education. You know like the people today that look at Victorian and Early American industrial revolution and wish we could go back to those days. As cool as steam and coal engines are they are trash and always will be trash. Great historical information and education is enjoyed by me. Ignorance to not knowing the risks, challenges, and destruction those eras caused is not enjoyed by me. I pray my son looks back on old technology as a way to the future and not to stay stuck in the past. This is why I am a firm believer that humanity is devolving and not evolving. There is no way we live in today's age with all that we can do and we waste our time and energy on hobbies and making money.

Astle Truscott and why is that. Are you afraid to admit to yourself bigger engines produce more power more reliably? A 2jz at 1500hp is not reliable but a ls is. Both engines are reliable at 500hp but ls sounds better and produces morr torque.

[Redacted] that is probably accurate....a two rotor is equivalent to a 350 ci small block in terms of the amount of air it can move, double that with the 4 rotor, so matching the fuel requirements of a 700ci V8. Atkins Rotary is one of the best sources of info on these things ( that's where I got the comparison from ). The peripheral port is the most radical configuration. If this engine had a much milder port configuration and was geared right with proper tuning, it might get closer to 15 mpg. But then again, that's speculation

Maxsation2481 Probably intentional through extreme tuning, probably spark cut and fuel igniting in the Downpipe/turbo elbow of the exhaust instead of the the combustion chamber, rather than a backfiring problem
