I’ve been in the skateparks a lot lately with skates and I’ve been dropping in a lot. I’ve fallen a few times but I’ve gotten it a lot too. A lot of this is confidence and not being afraid to fall

I'm just learning drop-ins, and the "reach-stagger-moosh" mantra is a perfect one to say to myself each time, to remind me to get DOWN before stepping in.

I drop into the bowl at my skatepark an still fall many times from videos I thought I would just get it right away but actually I get it sometimes and still fall a lot. Its actually fun to wrk on something that doesn't come easy to me.

Watching these video makes me sad and happy at the same time. I am a newbie skater but I injured myself badly a month ago. I can skate straight and do a bit (backwards skating, forward skating, gliding on my non injured leg) , but almost nothing that includes any weight on my right leg (so I am not able to do proper crossovers anymore, no running on toe stops, no jumping, not even transitions, etc.). And I still do not know what is up ... but that would be a long story. I watch these videos so I do not have to think about it too much, but now after a few weeks I almost regret I signed up for roller derby to learn how to skate in the process (it was a very weird fall that probably would not have happened the way it did outside of derby, I still love derby and it hurts I cannot participate, only skate alone on the side). I feel like I failed before I even started, and god knows if I will even be able to skate normally again. Sorry to be a downer, I just really needed to write it anonymously on the internet. Keep rolling everyone!

the part where you showed people's first drop ins that really really inspired me to actually try dropping in, ive been wanting to since i started but i haven't got the right pads so i'll have to wait, but that'll give me more time to see how it's done !!

Omg, this is just gold!! I dropped in the wrong way this past weekend when I was at the skatepark w. my kids (gave my daughter my helmet because she lost hers) and I wiped out completely fell backwards and also hit my head and got a mild concussion. I was out of it a few minutes then went on autopilot and my kids knew how to get home by metro so 20 min later I was ok and didn't realize what happened. It was sooo scary. Thank you so much for this video. I watched a bunch of videos but this was the best advice I found.

I dropped in on a small incline for the first time and it was a rush! I just ordered some CIB blocks can’t wait to go back to the park!

Feeling like I'm ready to drop in the bowl at my local... just watching Indy drop in a bowl 3/4ths of the height of the one at my park is spooking me out! hahahah but that song is really good and so is the tutorial. Watching this gives me more confidence to push my limits and try it out (with the right protective gear on! haha)

Thank you so much for tutorial, at 39 I started skating 9 or 10 month ago, and after many many crashes and injuries I've just learnt how to drop in, only on the medium ramps mind you. Without this lesson and your others I wouldn't even be able to stop properly. I still haven't nailed pumping, I'm right-footed but when I stagger my feet I put my left foot forward, is this wrong, it just feels natural?
