You can also dump ps2 disks using multiman. I believe ps1 aswell.

Don't ask me how. I'm very new to all of this too. I'm gonna try that this week. But after extracting your game to .iso, it is encrypted. Even after extracting the .iso, all the folders/backup are still encrypted. You have to first decrypt your .iso Once decrypted you can extract its content and use it on your PS3

You might want to mention that you need to make sure you have enough disk space before you start the dump. I know it sounds obvious but I didn't realize I didn't have enough space until the end of the transfer, but the dump completed without showing me an error. However I realized that the file was not the full size so I restarted after deleting all the files and it dumped properly.

You can also use a pc as long as you have bluray burner. And send to a HDD or usb. There a program called ps3 disk ripper

when I tried this everything worked just fine until I tried to boot the game, after which it gave me an error message saying "booting failed the selected file or folder is invalid or corrupted" and thats where it ended.

If I extract the ISO, does that mean I have two copies.of the game taking up room on my hard drive?

This might sound dumb, is the cue file that is generated when you create an ISO with multiman needed? Like do I need it to play the game on my PS3? Or is it needed to extract said iso for use with RPCS3? Because through the various, ROM dumps I've found them to be in iso format with no cue file.

One question, can you get PS3 isos to work on RPCS3 via extracting them to usb through multiman, or do you need to do it through FTP?

Put the iso on the usb,put it in the ps3, load web man, get the folder for you usb copy the iso open the hdd0 dev for you ps3 games and you can paste it as a iso to the hdd. Hope this helps!
