Yes, if fabric is pre-treated well enough

how much water did you use in this project

The amount of water should be according to the type of cloth and little extra as some of it will be lost due to evaporation.

No, if you mordent the fabric properly the colour will last.

Since it's a natural dye, yes it will fade with time, but it also depends on the fabric used. Cotton fabric will retain the Colour for long as compared to others.
