How to Dye Leather and Give Antique Look. Aged Leather Dyeing

In this video, I show how I dye my leather to give it an antique look. You'll need two colors: a light brown or tan and a darker brown tone. For this project, I chose the British Tan and the Medium Brown. This dyeing technique is one of my favorites because it only requires a tiny amount of dye and the results are soooo beautiful! I hope you like it, too!

The paint additive called Flotrol that's made by Flood also works well on my projects. The product is made to be used by mixing it with paint and is good for eliminating brush marks. I've used this as a sealer/polish on leather. I've not tried this product in humid or wet places. So I don't know how waterproof it is. It is not like Resolene and dries a little more of a mat polish look.

Where did you get that stamp ,it’s beautiful and what is the white milky looking stuff you rubbed on the leather ?

hi! All my stamps are available on www.eleanaworkshop.com and www.etsy.com/shop/eleanaworkshopcom. I use fiebing's Resolene to finish the product.

Did you punch the holes in the leather with the same machine? I think it is , where did you get the set of punchers of different sizes? Thank you!

Hi. You can find the machines and all the available dies here: eleanaworkshop.com/product-category/tools-and-materials/machines/ I use the same machine for hole punching, rivet/snap button/eyelet setting and for pressing small metalic logo stamps on leather.
