You don't need foil for red hair. A highlift red with a 30v or 40v would work. I suggest this for your regrowth. Also I would use a semi permanent color such as adore or whichever you want to refresh your color in between touch ups. Red is hard to keep vivid because the pigments are so large and it's hard to penetrate hair. Also make friends with dry shampoo and don't shampoo everyday because your color will fade fast. Hope this helps.

Huge help!! Dry shampoo is my best friend. And good thing about the foil because I am noooot good at using it! Lol

Hi Tiffany, I hope you see this. In her video when she’s done with the bleach? It’s sorta that orangey blonde? That was my color. I than added red dye and girlllllll!!! My hair is cherry 🍒 LIGHT red!! Do you know how I could make it coppery? Can I ADD a brown over it?
@visionsmagazineonlin

That's so pretty! I add in Kiss semi permanent paprika to brighten up the cheap otc hair color. I deal with gray roots so I paint the roots with Kiss color til they get too grown out.

This is 💯 what I do for my red I also love the fading in the summer and usually don't refresh unless I add more of an orangey tone but winter is def more reddish

Ion Color Brilliance is my all time favorite. I use the 20 volume or even the 10 volume. You do need to know that if using Color Brilliance on any shade, that it is always about two and sometimes three shades darker than what it shows on the swatch. It has great coverage even on gray hair, and really doesn't damage the hair. I also love their after color conditioner that comes in the little purple packs. Your color looks amazing!!

Thank you so much! And that’s sooo true…the swatches are always a tad lighter! Glad I’m not the only one to notice that :)

When mixing bleach the developer determines time. The higher the number the less time you have to work with it but it never deactivates which means once you get to the level you want take a spray bottle with water spray and wipe to stop it from lightening. If you don’t it’ll just process without lifting and damage your hair. Developer in perm color is the lift level. The number equals levels lifted. Vol. 10 = 1; level 20 = 2 etc etc. hope someone finds this useful. Also if you are completely natural and just want a dark red, blue, violent use a Demi-permanent not semi but DEMI with 10 volume developer. It’ll lift just enough to give you a color tone while keeping your hair healthy and it’ll wash out.

I dye my hair this shade of red. My hair is a little darker than your natural hair you started with. I use the ion 8RC and 7RR and 30 vol developer and end up with the color you got at the end. Hope this helps.

The reason it the first time and second time didn’t work/was to dark is because you kept using the wrong hair level, the first time you used a level 5 and 6, you should have used a level 8 or 9 😅

I’ve used the liquid color but I used the Sally brand developer last time I used a different one (ion) my scalp broke out. Which has never happened to me even when I bleached my hair with a Clairol Born Blonde Bleach box dye But yeah I’m with you wouldn’t use liquid color plus liquid developer Thanks for posting next time I would go for a 30 developer I have naturally dark brown hair I tend to bleach my hair month or two before I dye it a brighter color Other wise the color won’t show Thanks for posting and writing down the products you used it’s really helpful

I had a similar but opposite problem. Mine turned out too bright haha. I'm being flexible coz I don't want to wait for shipping and no Sally's less than an hour and a half away has the color I'd prefer to mix in. So I'm kind of doing a loop around. And my brown hair was bleached to level 10 coz I was doing blonde a while. And so it's pretty porous. And I had my set dyes to use and I decided last minute to not add a brown to darken it, and I got the exact color I wanted but too bright lol. It looks good but not what I want. So now I'm getting the same colors but adding the brown so I get a nice deep copper red blend. Coz I got a level 7cr, and then 5r. But I just needed a brown to bring it down lol. I was just afraid it would get too dark without the brown since my hair is so porous. But I was right the first time. Oh well. Gonna get a level 4 warm brown and I think it'll be gorgeous and just what I want. Im only doing red coz I'm transitioning back to going natural brown, but wanna have some fun along the way but don't want something too bright.

@Brooklyn ray turned out how I expected it would! They didn't have the ginger color I wanted in stock that would have gotten me the color her hair was. Mine is like more bright feeling coz it has red mixed into it so it feels more vibrant. The best way I can describe it is her color but with a touch of red tone added. It's really nice!
