Watch a lot of KZfaq videos on cinematography and editing. I rarely post comments but felt compelled to for this video. I’m debating on whether or not to purchase an iPhone 15 pro max specifically for log footage and have been searching KZfaq for reviews, tutorials, etc… Your video is extremely well produced and informative for anyone with a reasonable understanding of cinematography and video editing software. I went on to your channel to look at your other posts and noticed that you post somewhat sporadically. I can only assume like many of us you have full schedule but I must encourage you to try and post as often as you can. It’s very difficult to sift thru the irrelevant, sponsored videos on KZfaq. This platform needs more content like yours. Thanks

Hi Umar, thank you so much vor this tutorial! I just tried this with a video and it worked well. But I have a "small" problem and maybe you or another person could help me. I think the problem started with the iPhone 12 and I'm currently using the iPhone 14. So I've been recording private videos with my iPhone for about 3-4 years having this issiue. In order to then transfer these to my Windows PC, I select “Keep originals” in the Photos settings on the iPhone. If I select "automatically" the timestamp is reset and I don't want that. However, as you described here, the copied video is not the same as on the iPhone. The colors don't look good/real. Now, as already mentioned, I managed to improve the colors with the help of your instructions. However, I would also have to do it for over 500 other videos. Doing all of this individually would be a huge effort. So my question is: Is it possible to set the color settings once for several videos in DaVinci Resolve and then export/render them all as individual videos? Maybe it is possible to save the colour settings as a LUT-File, export this and then just choose this LUT-File for all of my videos like a filter?

Hi nice and helpful video. When you upload this sort of videos edits on KZfaq or Instagram, does it change the quality? I know that sometimes you edit and the when you upload it does look the same. Second, can you get an Apple log even if you don’t have an apple laptop?

Why does your pipeline have the CST in the middle? The last step in your pipeline should be the converstion to REC709 so your Joker LUT might be too strong because its a combo LUT meaning its both creative and does the converstion. You didn't need to set input gamma etc because it looks like your timeline settings are pulling from project settings.

Nice job Umar. Reasonably good delivery too. I would just suggest taking a bit more time so we can follow what you are doing. I really like your work flow. It’s a little different than I learned. I like it better than my way.

Is it not so good when your settings in Black Magic Camera is display LUT on, Rec. 709 conversion Lut in the LUT selection, record LUT to clip is on and the colorspace tag is to Rec. 709?
