i like the eddie huang method of putting the dumpling into a dish of vinegar and allowing the heat to diffuse for about 30 seconds, the dough will absorb the vinegar as well.

My technique of choice. Bite the pinched tip off to make a small hole. Let it steam out a bit. Pour some of the cold dipping sauce in to it then just eat the whole thing in 1 go!

Use ice water to reduce swelling on your face, to not apply directly but use a cloth on top of the ice and rub it around your face. Make sure that you cleanse abd scrub your face before applying ice.

Tbf you can just let the soup dumplings cool down and then eat them. But more often than not your eating at a Chinese place with those bamboo steamers and there’s gonna be a lot of food and other people wanting to eat them. So the conventional way to do it is like this. But if you bought soup dumplings and made them yourself in a steamer then you could just let them cook down and eat them whole with the soup.

I'm ignorant as eff about Xiao Long Bao and the culture surrounding it honestly, so bear with me while I ask: what's the point of putting soup _in_ the dumpling if the way to eat it is to take the soup out of the dumpling, drink the soup, and then eat the dumpling? I've always bitten a hole at the tip where the folds of the dumpling meet to let the steam escape and then eaten the whole thing in one bite. In the words of Andrew Wong, "It becomes what, for me, is important about dim sum: a single mouthful of magic."
