I like the clean chic look you make basic outfits elevated and really put together. You tell it like it is what the basics are what we really need and don’t need. You have helped me do a lot of downsizing got rid of big patterns such as big flowers on my blouses. I love how you wear white and linen. Thankyou

Thanks to you I have recreated outfits using clothing I'd forgotten about. I have a rayon crepe black blouse with white embroidery that I tried again using your styling tips. It's like a brand new piece (that I've had for 29 years from The Gap.) It definitely has stood the test of time and is still in excellent condition. It's true what they say: quality over quantity never fails.

Hello Jess! Loved your video! I agree with you ... the fabric is very important! I also love sandals, shoes , whatever ... so I definitely invest in this acessorie, I really feel that a nice pair of shoes can elevate and give grace to an outfit! I also like to use fine necklaces, mix them! A bag is essencial, can give a touch of elegance and fun! HAve a lovely week! Thank and until sunday!!!! 🌼

I love shoes . When I left my small hometown at age 18 the owner of the only shoe store in town told my Dad his business fell off dramatically. He said when I’d buy a new pair of shoes the other girls at school would then request them too. Guess I was an influencer decades before social media. I’m still a shoe addict and Nordstroms loves me. I’ll admit I own two pair of the Aquazzurra brand and they are worth it……so comfortable I can walk in them all day and they are water resistant. I also just bought a pair of laser cut AGL sneakers that I’m taking to Paris in June. I ruined my feet after 12 years of ballet…..six days a week. Good shoes are a must. I save by buying less expensive clothing items. I always get compliments on my shoes. Love your style and every day I look forward to more videos

Hi everyone, hope you've had a great week:) So today I've got lots of style tips that I follow for when I want to elevate my style. All the ideas are easy to integrate, practical and can absolutely be done to suit your own budget. I'd love to hear your favourite outfit? And if you have a style tip you'd like to share with the other subscribers it's always lovely hearing from you all:) It's half term for us this week and I messed up big time on a little trip away! Searching for the weather in 'Norfolk' I spotted a mini heatwave going on so quickly booked a hotel. Sadly, I've just realised it's actually Norfolk NY that's getting all the sunshine, while Norfolk UK looks a touch debatable haha! I can't believe I've done that, it's buckets and spades in the rain I think! Hello, lovely 😍! Perfect advice. I've been on a shopping spree again. More than I need, but love (basic neutrals, clothing, shoes, bags and belts) Time for me to rummage through the old, to try and let go. Lol. I do love a variety, and colorful outfits do make me happy with my tan, in summer. Artsy! $500 is my tops for shoes. I absolutely adore both of your white embroidery tops!💗! Another great video Jess. 🥰 Such fabulous tips, and I agree that quality over quantity is something I’ve learnt over the years. Also, the whole outfit doesn’t need to be expensive but mix and match. The weather wasn't too bad in the end! The first day was torrential rain but we lucked out with sunshine for the next so happy days all round! Hello Ms. Jess, I absolutely love your style & suggestions. I love how you combine the elements of: chic style, sustainability, comfort, natural materials in neutral tones. This is everything I want in an outfit. I love everything, but my favorites are the white blouse from Sèzane, the embroidered Lulus tank top & the linen skirt set. You have incredible style, I have been adding quality pieces to my wardrobe lately , thanks to you but my shoe & bag collection need an upgrade. They really do elevate an outfit. I’m in the process of moving house at the moment & I’m torn between house decor & fashion pieces. Love the white Lulus set, particularly the skirt, the embroidered cami is so pretty too. Jess this is one of my very favourite videos - like you I also love single tones usually black navy tan or white for me - also spend a lot of time and investment on my basics. Recently purchased a full length black Merino wool coat hand stitched lining from Mango UK for AUD235 could not be happier with the purchase as I couldn’t find a good quality wool coat here on Sydney. Liberty cotton is still my favourite. Really love the warmer hues in your hair colour x

I had to laugh at your question about how much would we spend on a pair of shoes. ☺️ that’s me blushing as I bought the Gucci Jordan loafers yesterday. This is the most I have ever spent on a pair of shoes though I have had them on my wish list for years.

Such a wonderful video, Jess. I agree with everything you said. I love your beautiful white blouse you wear for shooting the video. White embroidery on cotton is my weakness. I can't resist it. Your new white linen separates from Lulus is so beautiful and easy. I have been looking for something like that for a while. Thanks for the inspiration. I also love the new background color theme (the light green) in your presentation. I can't wear it due to my skin tone, but it is my favorite shade of green. When my daughter was just born, I painted her bed room that green. So soft, pretty and soothing. You are a joy to watch. Job well done again!

Aww what a lovely shade to paint your daughters bedroom:) I still remember going through that 'nesting period' with the boys. I painted their rooms and then a caravan haha! I learned how to adjust my pants on the waist (not hard to do) and to tell you it makes a huge difference, is an understatement. Also, I'm 180cm so I usually don't strive for heels on a daily basis 🥹

I am so happy your channel popped up on my KZfaq feed for the first time today. Liked and subscribed ! :-) Yes, fabric is the very first thing I look at, as well..and if I'm looking for colour I find the colours that would resonate in.. say Provence...a lovely blue, tonal neutrals are a good classic, feel-good way to go.

Good morning Jess, ha ha that Norfolk mistake had me chuckling 😂. Great tips as always. Goodness me that pretty embroidered cami is stunning and the new tan sandals are great too. The way you make really basic items look so stylish is an art. I'm slowly getting nicer new bits into my wardrobe but shoes and bags are a long way off as my feet hate shoes so finding any I can actually walk in is an issue, therefore I don't always have the right shoes to match the outfit! Love this video, Jess 😊. I like color in my clothes but all of my shoes and handbags are in neutral tones. Although I’ll spend a fair amount on high end designer handbags, I don’t buy designer shoes. Boots are another matter. Here in New England winter is a long season, so boots are a good investment piece. I have a few Stuart Weitzman (knee and ankle) and a pair of Aquazurra booties. All in black. xxoo

Ahhh, shoes, my guilty pleasure. I recently bit the bullet & went for the classic Chanel slingbacks 🙄 however, they are classic, and I'll get my cost per wear for hopefully years to come. I don't have an issue going for the more expensive classics. No way I'd spend the same amounts on trend pieces. Thanks for the video Jess.

Morning Jess. Lovely ideas. I love a hoody and blazer together. Shoes/boots I normally go up to £150isg for a nice pair. If I had more money I would go to £500 but I think more than that is a bit extravagant. Have a great day. X

I think that's my marker too:) In my 20s I spent about £300 which was about the designer price at the time but these days I can't quite bring myself to do it! Not that I don't fall in love with the shoes I might add, I just need to know I'll wear them on repeat to get my moneys worth:) I looked at Chanel flats yesterday which have been on my wish list forever! £900 can you believe that? x

Hi lovely, thanks so much for stopping by:) That's a nice idea for a video thank you, I shall add that to the list. I was planning on doing something similar next week actually and film everything i wear in a week so maybe that will come first. I used to do the odd vlog on my channel and the majority of my subscribers are so lovely and very supportive but I found the odd 'mean' comment a bit unsettling:/ It can throw your week off completely! I can handle all the criticism in the world about my style and outfit ideas but when it gets personal it stings a bit? So I stopped doing them really for a happy soul! Sorry, that was a bit of a waffle wasn't it but yes, anything fashion related i'm all in:) x

Great video, i love your esthetics! I've been checking fabrics for years before i buy anything and i'm glad it's being talked about, because the discussion might lead the companies to create better quality clothes.. unfortunately many times i find it hard to find what i want to buy because synthetics are so widely used in items within my budget!

Thank you so much Anna, and I’m so with you re checking fabrics☺️ I have noticed a shift in the last couple of years where stores are using far more sustainable fabrics. It might be because they want to ‘look’ more sustainable but either way it’s a good move all round. I’m really looking forward to the day when polyester isn’t seen at all! x

The most I ever paid for a pair of shoes was AUD $170. They are red patent leather Mary Janes with a kitten heel and so very comfortable. I found an identical pair (by the same brand) for $50 on a clearance, so I bought them. They are "lifetime" shoes!! It averaged out to $110 a pair!!

But I love Arket for cotton poplin shirts, Reiss and Everlane for linen, oh and I recently bought a gorgeous striped one from Sezane too. But that might be a little heavyweight for you if you're looking for something lighter? Anyhow, theres lots of ideas over on the blog that might help hopefully x

Morning Jess, another fab video, OMG where are those navy suede trainers from 😍 ? Love those lol, who doesn’t wear their pieces more than once 😳, unless your loaded 😂, not very sustainable either is it . I bought the same sunscreen too, really glows and nice under makeup , got a lot of pigmentation too that I work hard to keep at bay, at 56 it’s inevitable 🙈, if only I could take back all those years of lying in the sun when I was younger ☺️….Yearly TCA medical face peels help 🤪 Happy Sunday hun xxx

Hello gorgeous, so sorry I missed your message:/ I got lost in the madness of half term! Those trainers are Sezane, and I have a feeling their still in stock, possibly even on sale! Isn't that sunscreen fab. My friend bought it for me actually after watching that vid where I was using Pix Buin haha! She was horrified! Still like the smell of it though:) Out of interest what do you use to get rid of pigmentation? Have you found anything that works? x

Jess, my darling, I enjoyed this video very much! A suggestion for a new video would be to pick 10 outfits, all colors and styles and tell us what makeup and hairstyle would look good with them. I used to wear everything with a very long ponytail because of the extreme heat, but I chopped it all off to an 80s retro short short look (think Demi Moore in Ghost) because I want to be comfortable this summer and not have my hair follicles continuously being stressed. Hopefully I’ll have a cute chin length bob by the holidays! I always make sure my brows are perfect and try to pick the perfect lipstick when I venture out. But is it enough? I need your advice! Take care from the US. I don’t leave my house anymore due to heat and the daily mass shootings 😢😢😢, so I really dress for myself and medical appointments. Hopefully a fall trip to Europe planned 30 days in advance will help to repair my faith in humankind! 💖✨🕊

I went to Lulu‘s website to purchase the embroidered cotton camisole, sold out of course, because it’s gorgeous! I did however purchase a beautiful button-down, vertically striped, white cotton shirt… This will be my go to for Summer!

Love the video and great tips, I do agree on doing a natural makeup and accept that we are not perfect and as we aged, do it with grace. I love the blouse you wore during the video.
