Question: When embroidering on wool letterman jackets- what needle type and thread weight do you use to embroider on wool body and leather sleeves of letterman jackets? (ex. 75/11 or 80/12 needles)? Thank you!

75/11 sharp or universal (R or RG) is standard for this type of project with 40 weight thread.

I’d love to know about when you decide to use different needles and thread size. Example for the stars, did you digitize that differently to use a different thread/needle size?

The answer is based on the type of detail you are working with. Small tiny detailed designs, require a smaller and thinner thread (60 weight 65/9 needle). Normal, everyday embroidery is mostly done with a 75/11. And a thicker, canvas type material 80/12 needle.

What hoop did you select on the MT1501? Did you use other option? How about the El Salvador flag on the other sleeve.

Oh fo sure!! I used hoop F. Just make sure the design fits the hoop and trace before you hit start.

I don’t have the em1010 but I believe its hoop D. Which ever is your biggest hoop should work. Just make sure you trace 3 times.

How long in width can your design be if your using this sleeve hoop?

I usually minus 1" from the size. So about 3.25"
