June bugs is my biggest threat to my figs . This is my first year I’ve gotten a good amount of figs in many years

Thanks for the tip! I use small party-favor-type organza bags I bought on Amazon. They work great for ants and birds, but I think a local rat or two learned they were the sign of an edible fig. They just pulled off the fig and bag together at night, dragged them under a bush, gnawed through the bag and ate the fig. Snap traps set at night and baited with a piece of fig were my solution. But this year I will try your method if that happens again, in hopes that the noisy plastic will discourage the rodents!

This is a great idea! Thanks for sharing. Simple and no special equipment needed. I have seen a similar thing done with brown paper bags on bunches of grapes. It makes me wonder if this could be used to also provide a degree of protection from rain on ripe figs. Obviously not fully waterproof but every little bit helps when you have near-ripe figs and imminent rain. Thanks again

My tree has never really had a problem with the pests. Sure. Some birds and bees get to them but in general I have more than I'll ever need.

why do you pluck leaves from fruit branch?

For some reason the birds and all pests leave my figs alone. I have no idea why
