Hi theoisback I,m James Bennett,a retired senior on a modest income that,s interested in possibly moving to Rwanda.I would like to know if there are any nice affordable 1bdrm apts for seniors( 300.00 and under) in a safe area? is there a Rwanda Housing Authority that help seniors find affordable housing in safe areas? where do most of the black americans live in Rwanda? I saw a video,about a yr ago,it seems to be like some sort of dept. of the Rwanda Govt. that was welcoming several afro americans to Rwanda, would that be a good starting point? I also saw online an older black american woman say she lives in a compound,what is that like,is it good living conditions?I don,t remenber where in Rwanda this was maybe Kigali? last but not least what is the best and most affordable way to ship your belongings,furniture,etc to Rwanda from the U.S.A. thank you for your time and information on these matters,as well as all the other very helpful information you have provided. You show the American passport in the video, but don't even mention the country. I assume it's one of the countries where they have to pay $50 for the visa. I don't understand what Rwanda has against the United Srates. Instead, European countries like Belgium & France have had an antagonistic relationship with Rwanda.

Yes, you need a visa. You can purchase a long tourist visa (90days), while you decide what you want to do here in Rwanda.
