Very amazing miniature train environment you have created here..!.. I thank you for posting these instructional tutorials. I'm sure it could take a lifetime to detail every little element, not only on the train units, but in the landscape as well. Very amazing...!! trains are so beautiful but most taken for granted by most everybody outhere... M.G. ...cheers from Phoenix, Arizona.

One time, I needed a loco in a roadname that wasn't available. Rather than risk destroying a $300 loco, I ordered a second shell, an undecorated shell, and painted and weathered that one. For intricate designs, it's often possible to find transfers/decals, or even have custom transfers/decals made, for your railroad. Unfortunately, that's not always an option because undecorated shells are not usually available for most models.

Really impressive results there and an excellent tutorial video, really informative and clear. One of your best videos yet...which is no small feat! Always loved NSE, I prefer the newer livery myself, but the original with the 'flash' up at the front looks so smart!
@EverardJunction
@EverardJunction 10 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I always like NSE both original and revised. However the more research I did the more I noticed how little MK2s got the darker blue. So in the interest of the whole rake matching I thought I'd got for to original scheme. Some good picture of trains exactly like that in 1988 and 1989.

To get a perfect gloss finish try Pledge Klear Multi Surface was with Future shine, it is water thin goes through an airbrush like a dream and cleans up easy, it gives a perfect gloss finish to laydown your decals. For standard colour paints like black and red give XtraColour a try, can get it from Hannants, they airbrush very well, their colours are for aeroplanes mostly but the basic colours work for all. Google search can give thinner ratios in relation to your setup air pressure, gun setup etc.

Hi, might be a daft question but when you say you mix paint in the airbrush bowl, do you mean just pour into the bowl or give it a slight stir to mix paint and thinner? What do you use to measure 50/50, just eyeball it? Thanks.

Is the HMG Paints thinners supplied for use with Railmatch paints also okay to use with Phoenix paints. I know that some enamel paints don't work with certain enamel thinners, as I found out when trying to use Humbrol thinner with Revell paint.
