I've just recently started EQing my guitar tracks and it's making a world of difference. This video is definitely going to help with some further mixing. The garage band amp designer video was really helpful as well. I've tried so many things and I think I just need patience and to trust my ear like you're showing in these videos. Another great video Colin! Thanks for the tutorial! At the same time i just started recording at studio for the second album. Finally i'm recording at a complete studio. One of the things i'm learning is to compose while using Garageband. It helps me to work on my song and bring back to my producer a clear idea of what i'm looking for or how i'm trying to sound. I’ve watched this video multiple times, but now I finally get it, at least to the extent of this videos purposes. Been working on a bad religion cover I did and can’t get the guitars right. And once I do, it drowns out the drums and bass. So the tips here will certainly help. Here’s a question, what about volume? I find my input being too high and red lining, but seems too quiet when I turn down. Thanks for the great content. You are a great teacher. The 3 point tip on overall purpose of EQ’ing was very illuminating. Keep it up!

Do you have any videos that show how to record guitar in GarageBand? Like the hardware you need and how to get from playing to recording high quality audio recordings? Been playing guitar a long time and want to make it a bigger part of my music, but lack the technical knowledge on getting from playing to having what I hear when I’m playing come through well on the recording. Hope that made sense. Your videos are really helping me improve my career and it’s really reassuring to finally get such a solid, comprehensive explanation.

I have not been equing my electric guitar but then again I’m fairly new to recording. After watching this I will experience. I recently recorded my electric acoustic guitar and it sounded awful. Not sure why 🤷🏻‍♂️

I hope it helps! Electric acoustics can be tricky. I often prefer to use a mic on an acoustic guitar, especially if it’s the main guitar in a mix
